Brick & Bourbon is extra special to us because it’s where we went to dinner in the late summer/early fall we got engaged. We were sitting on the upper deck, eating really good food and having really good drinks, when we started talking about what we wanted our wedding to feel like and realized we were already sitting in it. If you’re a whiskey drinker, you have to try the Smoking Gun (Nick’s favorite and highly recommended). If you’re not a whiskey person, the Lavender Mule is Maia’s favorite and the correct choice. We love the buffalo chicken mac & cheese, but we can honestly say we have never not loved the burgers either, so there’s truly no wrong order here.
Strolling through downtown Stillwater is one of our favorite things to do. Popping into little shops, wandering without a plan, and somehow always finding something charming. Whether it’s home décor, books, gifts, or just something you didn’t know you needed until you saw it, there’s always something fun to discover. It’s the perfect way to spend an afternoon (or kill a little time), and one of the best ways to soak up Stillwater’s character. Take your time, wander in and out of shops, and enjoy the experience.
Stillwater Lift Bridge and the riverwalk hold one of our favorite early wedding memories. After touring our venue for the very first time last fall, during a fall harvest festival, we went for a walk along the river, soaking it all in. Somewhere between the crisp air, the festival buzz, and the view of the bridge, we found ourselves talking about how much we loved the venue and how right it felt. It’s still one of our favorite places to walk, especially at sunset, and a perfect spot to slow down, take in Stillwater, and enjoy the moment.
Ziggy’s is where the night tends to turn into a really good time. It’s a lively bar with live music, and more than once we’ve found ourselves dancing along to a band playing all the best classic rock songs. At one point, we may or may not have gotten a foot caught in the fun wheel while dancing, which honestly just adds to the charm. If you’re looking for live music, great energy, and the kind of place where you end up laughing way harder than you planned, Ziggy’s is absolutely worth a stop.
No Neck Tony’s is our favorite little dive and the kind of place where you’re pretty much guaranteed to have a good time and unintentionally make a friend or two. It’s casual, fun, and somehow always exactly where you end up when the night isn’t quite over yet. One of our favorite memories here is spending Halloween weekend here. Great energy, lots of laughs, and one of those nights that started simple and turned into a core memory. If you’re looking for an easy spot to keep the night going, this is it.
