How We Met

August 2018

After my roommate inadvertently introduced us my freshman year of college, we texted on and off for about two years. When covid hit, Hannah posted to her story on snapchat and I swiped up. For the next few months, we snapchatted back and forth until one day she asked if I would like to meet up with her. I don't think either of us knew it at the time, but that moment led to many trips, dinner dates, our first kiss and a love that will last a lifetime.

The Proposal

November 23, 2021

It was a cool winter evening on Tybee Island. I had just slipped the ring into the pocket of my jeans before we departed to watch the sunset. It was the perfect night. It was cold enough that I could play off any nerves as chills from the wind. There were only a few other families and spectators on the beach with us. I told Hannah we should have someone take our picture, knowing she would want someone to capture what was about to happen. To my surprise, she said she didn't want to bother anyone this evening and she'd rather not. Thankfully, I insisted. Only problem was, as I was fishing the ring out of my pocket, I realized that I had not yet smiled in a single picture. The girl who offered to take our picture must have been confused and possibly a little scared. Finally, I snapped out of it and smiled, asked for one more picture and got down on one knee. Not only did we get a picture, but the girl actually ended up videoing the proposal! Then her mom handed us a bottle of wine as a congratulatory gift! Most importantly, as you can probably guess, Hannah said yes! If you would like to see the pictures of me looking like a doofus before proposing, feel free to ask, Hannah loves to show them off.
