Instant Connection

It was finals week for fall term when we met. One of us was studying for a biology exam in the cafeteria with a friend, the other was trying to kill the boredom by meeting up with friends between their tests. Turns out the study partner was a mutual friend which helped with the introduction. As the two girls were studying, two gentlemen showed up at the table and started talking. Instantly there was a spark between the two strangers. Then they got into a conversation about our artistic talents, but soon the two girls had to leave for their exam across campus. Before the test started the mutual friend got a message from one of the guys we were talking to and was insisting that we all go hang out sometime. Which, we made a time to do so, and so began our relationship. It's been a wild road to say the least, but it's been amazing as we travel in this adventure of life together.

Engagement Story

Nick, being the creative man he is was being crafty and testing his skills to learn new things and to do something he had never done before. Taking a year and a half to make it, he created the engagement ring he used to propose with. The concept derived from a drawing that represented the two parts of us coming together to make one. It was two halves of a heart, one is mechanical with gears and metal while the other was a whimsical half. Having finished the ring and knowing the type of location that was ideal for us both, Nick decided to spring a random road trip to visit family as a way to try hiding the intention of what he wanted to go which gave the reason to visit waterfalls along the way. Granted the timing was a bit rough due to it being right after the massive snowmagedon, but he was determined to find the right spot that wasn't closed down. We finally found one to walk to, took a bit of effort and a little slipping around on ice, but at the Toketee lookout viewpoint, in the middle of trying to take a picture of the waterfall, Nick gets down on his knee and proposes. He was super excited to show the ring off and see the reaction. The moment was so special and will never be forgotten.
