FAQs

Question

Did your date/location change?

Answer

Yes! You may have noticed our wedding date and location have both changed. The new, correct date is Friday, December 10th, 2021, and it will now be taking place in Columbia, South Carolina.

Question

What COVID-19 Precautions Will You Be Taking?

Answer

To keep everyone as safe as possible, we respectfully request that all guests be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at least 2 weeks prior to the wedding. We will be providing and encouraging masks as an added precaution. Your health and safety is our top priority so we appreciate your cooperation.

Question

Do I have to get tested before the wedding or provide a copy of my COVID-19 vaccination card?

Answer

We hope you understand how seriously we are taking the COVID-19 pandemic for our wedding. If you have not been fully vaccinated 2 weeks before the wedding, please do not attend. Same goes for symptoms of sickness—if you are unwell, please do not attend. Many of our loved ones are immunocompromised and/or extremely high-risk and we need to be sure we are doing everything possible to keep them (and you!) safe. If you feel more comfortable obtaining a negative test beforehand as well, we encourage you to do so!

Question

I have opted against receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. Can I still attend?

Answer

We would love to see you in person, but unfortunately we are not able to make general exceptions at this time. If you are not fully vaccinated by the wedding, we invite you to participate by watching the livestream of our ceremony on Facebook! If you have further concerns regarding our vaccine requirement, please contact us and we’d be happy to provide more information!

Question

When should I arrive?

Answer

Our ceremony will begin promptly at 4 pm. Please arrive between 3:30 pm and 3:45 pm so we can stay on track.

Question

Where can I park?

Answer

The venue grounds has a small parking lot that can accommodate about 1/3 of the cars we anticipate. There is a visitor’s center across a small road directly across from the venue grounds that will be available for additional parking.

Question

What will the weather situation be like?

Answer

We encourage you to bring cold weather clothing as you see fit for our December event. The ceremony will be outdoors and the reception will be both indoors and outdoors. We will also have heaters scattered along the grounds as needed. In years past, the average weather on December 10th in Columbia, SC has been between 44 and 63 degrees.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We have designated the number of seats we have reserved in your honor on your invitation. Plus-ones that have not been reserved by the Bride and Groom on invitations will not be permitted to attend.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

This is an adult-only event. We have also limited invitations to older/teenage kids to only close family and loved ones. Otherwise, our event is tailored for guests 21+ in age.

Question

What is an “Unplugged Ceremony”?

Answer

We kindly ask that guests not utilize phones/cameras during the ceremony, especially if you are seated along the aisle. This is so that our photographer can capture the best shots without phones in the air.

Question

What if I need to leave my car overnight and take an Uber/Lyft home?

Answer

Our venue allows any guests who may have had too much to drink to drive, to leave their cars at the venue overnight so you can make it safely home another way. All vehicles must be picked up no later than 10 am the next morning.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please let us know of your reserved number of seats attending by October 10th, 2021, so we may adequately finalize our plans. Unfortunately, guests who do not RSVP will not be able to attend.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Black Tie / Formal is the preferred attire for our event. For ladies this generally means a floor-length gown or other form of formal attire, and for gentlemen this generally means a tuxedo or a dark formal suit.

Question

Are there any colors I should avoid wearing?

Answer

We kindly ask that you please avoid wearing white (reserved for the Bride) or dusty blue/navy gowns (reserved for immediate family and the bridal party).

Question

Will there be a way for me to watch the ceremony if I can’t make it?

Answer

Yes! We will be live streaming via Facebook for loved ones who cannot make it to the wedding. If you aren’t friends with the Bride on Facebook, definitely send her a request!

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Your presence at our celebration is the best gift of all, but if you are so inclined, we are registered here on Zola under the “Registry” tab as well as on Amazon (connected to our Zola registry for convenience).

Question

Will there be an Open Bar or a Cash Bar?

Answer

OPEN Bar! All drinks are on us!

For all the days along the way
