February 11, 2022 began as a normal Friday night for Julia and her college roommates: walk to the bar down the street, dance like no one was watching, and enjoy a girls’ night out. Fate (and one very observant friend, shoutout Brooke) had other plans. Brooke recognized someone (shoutout Kolby) across the bar from the annual Aukerman trip to Martha’s Vineyard, which led to Julia and Nick spotting each other. A conversation turned into a dance floor invitation, a few shared drinks, some questionable but enthusiastic dance moves, and phone numbers exchanged. A day or so later, Nick texted Julia to ask her out to dinner. One date turned into many, and the rest is history.
