Our Engagement

Last summer, we took a trip to Copenhagen to visit a friend and take in the hygge. The trip started off with our luggage being lost, but we didnt let that stop us from eating pickled herring and drinking snaps. A few days in, still without luggage, Kirby came down with shingles! It was our last day and it was literally raining but we refused to submit to the elements. Determined, we rented a boat to sail the canals and take in the city for one last day. Kirby was planning to ask me to marry him on the boat- but nature had other plans. After the rain had stopped, the winds and current were wildly strong, making it nearly impossible to steer our little boat. Within minutes our map flew out of our hands and there were a flock of seagulls following us (I had a fish salad with me for some light snacking). After we lost half a bottle of wine to the wind we decided to pack it up and just sit together and enjoy the rest of the ride in each others arms. When we got back to land we stopped at a pub to recharge our phones and collect ourselves. I started to cry, thinking that our trip might have been a bust after all and ultimately asked if Kirby would ever ask me to marry him, to which he responded “Will you marry me?” And took out an old ring of mine. I gladly accepted and we toasted with champagne. When we left to get on our bikes, Kirby took my hands and got on both knees and asked me again and we just held each other and cried. It was so chaotic and beautiful and us.

COVID-19

Let's celebrate safely!

We have been working closely with our venue to narrow down what we can and cannot do. The state has mandated a few protocols and we are taking a few additional precautions to be make sure everyone can have a good time and maintain safety: **We are asking all guests to get tested before the wedding. Give yourselves enough time to get the results before attending.** All guests will be temperature checked by the venue. Masks are required whenever people are not seated, we will provide surgical masks for anyone who needs it. There will be a dance floor, and many other places to dance to maintain social distancing. There will not be self serve buffet or hors d’oeuvres, everything will be plated and served. Our venue will be sanitizing all rooms daily, and are installing new air ventilation systems to provide extra safety. The venue is providing hand sanitizer dispensers throughout the venues. Bracelet system- alongside our programs we will have green, yellow, and red bracelets to help signify which level of comfort you have with other people outside your family/group. It's totally optional, we just figured it would help eliminate a lot of awkwardness and help people feel safe. In the meantime, PLEASE wear a mask, wash and sanitize your hands often, and maintain social distancing. We love you all and want everyone to remain safe and healthy.
