The height of Covid wasn’t the best time to meet people, but somehow, through the magic of the internet, we connected. The first time we chatted, we talked for 5 hours. After that, Nicki decided that Kevin probably wasn’t a serial killer and gave him her phone number. Following walls of text, short videos to one another, feature length videos to one another, and an untimely contraction of Covid, we finally met on February 12, 2021 at The Avenue. Our excitement and our love for one another still hasn’t slowed down.

Many months before the actual proposal, Kevin asked, "On a scale of one to ten, how extra would you like this proposal to be?" Nicki answered, "Negative seven." On February 12th, 2023 (the anniversary of our first date), we went back to The Avenue in Grandview Heights. Kevin had reserved a giant booth in the corner with a huge bouquet of red roses blocking the table from the rest of the restaurant. He proposed instantly with a ring box he had made himself. After dinner, we went back home where Kevin's eldest, Esther, was waiting up for us. We were able to celebrate with her that night and the two youngest, Emmett and Gabriel, when they woke up the next morning. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
