While we agree that we met through mutual friends, we tell the story of “who asked out who” a little differently. As friends entertained the idea of setting Jacob up with someone else, I entertained the idea of going on a date with him myself… leading me to challenge Jacob to a game of pool and join friends for music and drinks afterward. Was that our first date? We’ll let you decide, but it was the beginning of our story. We officially began dating just a week later on April 19, 2019 and now engaged to be married in September 12 of 2020! Our favorite days include making a delicious breakfast, grabbing our cameras and packing up some coffee and snack for a day of adventure. You know those lovely little towns with little mom & pop shops, antique stores and cafes?… That’s where we spend many of our weekends.

While there were many ways Jacob could have proposed to Nicki, he remembered her say awhile back, "I just want it to be like every other day... doing exactly what we love." He knew exactly what that meant. Jacob planned a day of adventure wandering around the antique shops of Hastings and Stillwater. Just as we arrived into Stillwater, Jacob remembered there was a beautiful outlook at the top of a long staircase. We stood there for a few minutes simply enjoying the view. Moments later, Jacob began to speak. While we both can't really remember the words that were exchanged, he got down on one knee and proposed. Nicki bursted out in laughter and said, "yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!"
