We actually met years ago in high school! Back then, Hannah knew Nick as a younger soccer player, and Nick knew Hannah as the effortlessly cool upperclassman. Despite going to a small school, our paths didn’t cross much (which might have been for the best, given Nick’s reputation as a bit of a troublemaker). Fast forward nearly 15 years, we’d both gone off to live our own lives and hadn’t given much thought to the other...until fate (and a dating app) stepped in. Nick had just moved back to the DMV and, with some hesitation, dipped his toe back into the dating scene. Hannah was already there, finding it more than a little lacking. But then she got a “superlike” from someone familiar: that soccer kid from high school. Our first date was at a bar in D.C. Hannah had braced for yet another awkward first date, and after hugging goodbye, Nick was sure he’d blown it. Luckily, we both left feeling the exact same thing: “I’d love to see them again.”

After our first date, we quickly found ourselves on dozens more, each one deepening our connection. It felt like we’d known each other forever, yet we were also constantly discovering new things about one another in the most fun, effortless way. Since then, we’ve traveled, celebrated birthdays, met each other’s families and friends, and shared so many of the little passions that make us who we are. Hannah has been working hard teaching her wonderfully distracted students to read and write with confidence, while Nick has been steadily making his way through his Nurse Practitioner program. Along the way, we packed up our lives in Washington, D.C., and made the cross-country move to Washington State so Nick could finish the final portion of his training. Now, settled into this new chapter, we’re excited for whatever adventure comes next, and even more excited to take it on together.
