The best way to experience Prague is on foot! It's an incredibly walkable city, and we highly recommend exploring that way. Just keep in mind that the historic streets feature uneven cobblestones and some hilly terrain, so comfortable footwear is always a good idea. The tram and metro are also a wonderful, reliable options. If you use public transit, please be sure to purchase and validate your ticket—spot checks are common, and the fines for riding without a ticket can be quite high!
The official currency is the Czech Koruna (CZK). While some major tourist shops and restaurants might accept Euros, you will almost always receive change in Koruna, and the exchange rate will likely be poor. We highly recommend paying in Koruna.
Card payments are widely accepted at most restaurants, hotels, and shops throughout Prague and are generally the easiest method to pay. Having some cash is recommended for small purchases, public transport tickets, or tipping. Note, American Express is not accepted at all places of business.
For restaurant and bar service, it is common to round the bill up to the nearest convenient amount or add 5–10% for good service. If you pay by card, it's best to tell the server the total amount you want to pay before they run the card.
We do not have a registry and are kindly requesting no gifts. Having you travel all this way to celebrate with us is the ultimate present! And, because we are heading straight to our honeymoon after the festivities, we are unable to carry or transport physical gifts. Your love, support, and presence are all we could ever ask for!
Here is the timeline for our pre-wedding celebrations: 1:30 PM: Boarding begins for our Vltava River boat tour. Please arrive on time so you don't miss the boat! 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM: River Boat Tour. The boat will leave the dock promptly at 2:00 PM. 7:00 PM: Dinner at BRICKS Note for extended family: We will do extended family photos at 5:45 PM near BRICKs. Please plan to arrive to dinner early, so we can capture photos together!
The boat must leave the dock right at 2:00 PM and cannot turn around. Boarding starts at 1:30 PM, so please give yourself plenty of buffer time to navigate to the pier. If you happen to miss the cruise, we would still love for you to join us for dinner at 7:00 PM!
The dress code is cocktail attire. There is no need to change between events—guests are welcome (and encouraged!) to wear the same outfit to both the river cruise and dinner. Tip: It can sometimes feel a bit breezy out on the water, so you may want to bring a light jacket, sweater, or shawl just in case.
Villa Richter is located on the hillside right below the Prague Castle. Cars and taxis are not allowed inside the historic castle grounds, so there is no direct vehicle drop-off at the top entrance of the venue, all guests must arrive on foot via the Old Castle Stairs (Staré zámecké schody) at the bottom of the venue. If you are walking or taking public transport: Take the metro (Line A) or the tram to the Malostranská station. From there, it is a short walk to the Old Castle Stairs (Staré zámecké schody). You will walk up the steps, and the entrance to the venue will be on your right. If you are taking an Uber, Bolt, or taxi: Ask your driver to drop you off at the bottom of the stairs near the Malostranská metro/tram station. From there, it is about a 5-minute walk up the steps to the main entrance of the vineyard, which will be on your right.
Prague is a walkable city, and we have intentionally booked all of our wedding events within a convenient 20-minute walking radius of the main hotel area in Malá Strana. Ride share services such as Uber and Bolt are great options for those who are not comfortable on foot, as well as tram and metro.
If you are traveling by tram or metro, the Malostranská stop is your best bet for accessing the venues and hotels nearby.
Prague is famous for its charming cobblestone streets, and Villa Richter features stone steps, gravel paths, and terraced vineyard walkways. For your comfort and safety, we highly recommend wearing comfortable shoes.
Villa Richter is located in a historic, protected zone right below the castle and there is no public parking on-site. We highly recommend using Prague’s public transit system, taking an Uber or Bolt, or walking to the venue.
