There will be a quiz at the end of this.

Nick met Schuylar when he was auditioning for Pace University’s BFA Acting program in the winter of 2013. Or so he says. She has no recollection. Schuylar was already a student in the program and was helping out at the auditions. He sent her a Facebook friend request after his audition. She left it pending since she didn’t recognize his name. Schuylar didn’t meet Nick until that fall, when Nick was now a fellow Pace student and he walked into the McDonald’s around the corner from Schuylar’s apartment, where she could often be found. Nick went home that night, deleted his friend request, and resent it now that she knew who he was. She accepted. For the next two years, they would hang out from time to time when their social circles overlapped. He would perform magic tricks to try to impress her, one of which she is still stumped by to this day. In the Fall of 2015, Schuylar’s senior year & Nick’s junior year, they were cast opposite each other in a play romantically titled, “Drop Dead”. He played an ego maniac over-actor and she played a ditzy woman of questionable morals. Obviously type casting. Throughout the rehearsal process, they grew from acquaintances to very close friends, having a blast together on and off stage. The following semester, they were cast opposite each other once again as Jeanie and Claude in the musical “Hair”. It was hard to ignore the serendipity of these back to back castings, in the last year they had left in school together. It became clear how well matched they were in every way. Since then, they’ve spent the past 9 years sharing in their love of theatre, pups, breweries, social justice, traveling to new places, card games, board games, crafting cocktails, pizzas topped with leftovers, Oscar movies, trivia, whiskey, Survivor, Cape May, charcuterie boards, historic sites, homemade limoncello in the summer & homemade pumpkin ravioli in the fall. On May 31st, 2024, Nick crafted an elaborate ruse to get Schuylar dressed up and under the Brooklyn Bridge, the spot where they spent many nights talking and looking up at the moon when they lived downtown. The spot where Nick says he first knew he loved her. He proposed, she said “yeah”, and then perhaps most importantly, they got pitchers of frozen margs from Cowgirl Seahorse with all of their favorite people. This has been a long time coming and we are beyond excited to get to honor our commitment that began nearly a decade ago with the wedding we’ve always wanted. We can’t wait to celebrate with good drinks, good food, good music, and good people!
