After we met we were skeptical about the whole long distance relationship thing but we decided to give it a try...and we're so happy we did! We spent 3.5 years traveling cross-country to see each other. Nick worked a full time job through school and would drive 11.5 hours each way just to see me for a weekend. It was hard but definitely worth it. 6 years later and now we have our own home, a dog, careers, and we're tying the knot!

One of our favorite places to get away is Nashville. It is full of good music, good food, and good times. This time it was a "birthday celebration" for me where we could get family and friends together for a fun weekend since we both moved away to Missouri. We decided to visit the Opry Land Hotel where there are several atriums full of beautiful flowers, and since it was close to Valentine's Day it was sure to be full of color...or so we thought. Turns out it was a hunting festival where people were walking around with their taxidermy animals! Though funny, that did not distract from how beautiful it was. Looking back I can see why Nick looked a little nervous, but the flowers and the day were absolutely beautiful. Nick definitely gave me a great surprise!
