Can my kids stay at the Surf House with me?

Answer

We would love to see your whole family at our small gatherings at the Surf House! However, the bride and groom have reserved the Surf House as an adult-only (21+) lodging space for the weekend. We ask that families with children under 21 book their stay at the regular hotel. Since the two buildings are only 270 feet apart, it’s a very easy stroll between the two.

What is the altitude?

"🏔️ A Note on Altitude: Staying Happy at 8,000 Feet! Buena Vista sits at a beautiful 7,965 feet above sea level! Because the air is thinner and drier than what our sea-level friends are used to, we want to make sure everyone feels great. Please start pounding the water a week before you arrive, pack some electrolyte packets, and take it very easy on your first day in town. Also, take note that cocktails pack a much bigger punch up here! Drink a glass of water between every alcoholic beverage so you can dance the night away with us. ~If you have heart or lung problems, you may need to have your doctor order oxygen that you can pick up at the Denver airport. Please do this ahead of time to avoid unnecessary scrambling or time away from the celebration (nearest small hospital is in Salida). ~Acetazolamide- a medicine your doctor can prescribe for you to take for three days, starting when you leave sea level and ending the day you arrive at altitude ~ Drugs and alcohol- very fun to celebrate, but you will be much more affected by the altitude and need to enjoy in moderation. ~Hot tubs & Sauna's make altitude sickness worse.
