Lands End Trail is a favorite among both locals and visitors alike! This trail explores the historic Sutro Baths and offers great views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Pacific Ocean. A must see for any visitor to San Francisco. Hikers and walkers in this area can also visit nearby Mile Rock Beach, Fort Miley, Palace of the Legion of Honor Museum, a USS San Francisco Memorial, the visitor center, and more.
The park is known for the old growth redwood forest that was once an extensive logging operation. This redwood forest is now the largest remaining natural stand of coast redwood in the East Bay. Hiking, trail running, mountain biking, and horseback riding, are popular activities in this park.
Moderate-to-Strenuous hike especially in the heat. Bring plenty of water since there is very little shade. Start at Parking Lot near The Marine Mammal Center. Take the Coastal Trail up to Hill88 to check out the creepy battery installations atop the hill. Take the Wolf Ridge Trail --> Miwok Trail to complete the loop back to the parking lot / staging area.
