Please note: Martin Luther King Jr. Day falls on Monday, January 18th, 2027. We chose this weekend intentionally so guests could make the most of the celebration! Our wedding is on Saturday, which means many of you will have Monday off work which is perfect for relaxing, recovering, or spending a little extra time in paradise before heading home. The closest airport to Sayulita is Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR), located about a 50-minute drive from town. Many U.S. cities — including Los Angeles, New York (JFK), Newark, Chicago, and Washington D.C. — offer direct flights, making travel easy for guests coming from the States. When you arrive in Mexico, you’ll need to complete an FMM (Forma Migratoria Múltiple) immigration form. This serves as your tourist visa and is required for all international visitors — whether you’re traveling from the USA, Switzerland, Australia, or elsewhere. You can fill out the form on the plane (paper version) or scan the QR codes posted at the airport when you land to complete it digitally on your phone. Once processed, you’ll receive a small paper slip at immigration. Keep this slip safe inside your passport — you must return it when departing Mexico, and replacing it if lost can mean fees and delays. We do not recommend renting a car — parking in Sayulita is limited and unnecessary. The town is walkable, especially if your accommodations are in or near the center. For extra convenience, golf cart rentals are a popular and fun option, and we’ll share recommendations below.
Travel Note
Sayulita banks are notorious for running out of cash. Make sure you get cash out from ATMs after all immigration & customs.. don’t get sucked into the cash counters/windows with high exchange rates. ATMs are on the right hand side before you exit the airport through the sliding glass doors & when it says a $75 (or very high) transaction fee to take money out do not panic - that is pesos, not American dollars.

This is optional but fun for groups traveling together, easy exploring, or those who may have a little bit more difficulty walking around town.
Travel Note
Sayulita is a lively surf town known for its nightlife—and if you’re staying right in the center, the music and energy can go late into the night. If you’re a light sleeper, we recommend bringing earplugs or booking an Airbnb on the outskirts of town for a quieter stay.
Travel Note
Below we will recommend some of our favorite hotels, and some home rentals that we know or are familiar with. However, take a look on Airbnb or Sayulita Life (via the link below) and you will find many options in all budgets and price ranges.
