Baja Club has reserved all 32 rooms at the hotel exclusively for our wedding weekend. Because the hotel is small, rooms may book up fast. Keep an eye on your email inbox for more information around accommodations and booking.
Please don’t stress! There are many beautiful hotels and B&Bs within a 5–10 minute walk of the Baja Club. We’ve curated a full list of recommendations with a range of price points, all in the heart of downtown La Paz, and within close proximity to the Baja Club. La Paz has many lodging options that are central and within easy walking distance of everything.
La Paz has plenty of excellent options. If your first-choice hotel is full: 1. Check the other recommendations on our list! Most are a short walk from Baja Club. 2. Look into smaller B&Bs and boutique stays in Centro, which often have availability. 3. Reach out to us — we’re happy to help you find a great alternative or share backup options.
Check out the Travel & Hotels page for more information about taxi and shuttle transportation! You can fly into either: • La Paz (LAP) — closest Airport to La Paz (~20 minutes to town) • Los Cabos (SJD) — often cheaper flights, ~2–2.5 hour drive to La Paz. If enough folks are going this route, we’ll help organize a shuttle from SJD to La Paz. The drive from Cabo to La Paz is approximately 2–2.5 hours on a safe, well-maintained highway with scenic desert and ocean views.
Not necessarily! If you’re staying near the Malecon, you can walk to almost everything. Note that Baja Club has valet parking for rental cars, but they have limited spaces available. A rental car is helpful if: • You’re flying into Los Cabos • You want to explore beaches outside of town • You’re staying outside Centro
Friday: Welcome gathering by the pool with a taco bar and open bar. This event will get started in the late afternoon and run into the evening. Saturday: Rooftop happy hour followed by the wedding ceremony at Baja Club. We’ll watch the sunset with cocktails in hand, followed by a family-style dinner in the garden. Rooftop reception with dancing, drinks, and merriment to go late into the evening. Sunday: Whale shark boat day excursion! We’ll likely load into boats sometime in the mid morning. For those who have departing flights, we’ll say our goodbyes over breakfast at Baja Club. We’ll share a more detailed event schedule closer to the date!
We do love your littles, but we’re aiming for an adults-only celebration. If bringing your child is the only way you can attend, please reach out to us directly - we’re happy to talk through the logistics and see what’s possible.
We’re calling the dress code Baja chic, with beachy elegance. Think bright colors, bold choices, and prints that feel fun, comfortable, and celebratory. Breezy, breathable fabrics are good choices here: linen, silk, lightweight cotton, flowy dresses, statement sets, or patterned shirts. Temperatures will dip into the 60’s in the evening, so planning on light layers is a good choice.
Mostly outdoors, with shade and wind coverage depending on the weather. Evenings are warm but breezy, so plan on bringing light layers to evening events in case of chilly ocean breezes.
No. We will coordinate the group tour and booking and will then gather details from those joining. If you plan to join the boat excursion, you will need to coordinate your lodging for Sunday evening. Baja Club does have a limited number of rooms available at our group discounted rate.
Boat transportation from La Paz, lunch, water, snorkel gear, and guides trained in marine wildlife safety standards.
The tour requires some level of comfort in the water, getting in and out of boats, spending the day in the sun, and encountering some cool wildlife! If you prefer to have a more relaxing day, Balandra Beach or shopping on the Malecon are great alternative activities.
Whale sharks are quite literally the coolest critter in the sea. Here are some quick facts about these gentle giants, and what to expect during an encounter! - The largest fish in the world and very gentle. - Whale sharks can grow up to 30–40 feet, but they’re slow, calm filter-feeders that eat only plankton. - La Paz is one of the best places on Earth to see them. - They migrate through the Bay of La Paz each year, with peak sightings October–March. - Each one has a unique “polka-dot” pattern, kind of like a fingerprint. No two sharks look the same! -They are a protected species. Local operators follow strict rules: no touching, limited time in the observation zone, and keep safe distances to keep the animals stress-free.
The event space and room block is limited, so we’re keeping the guest list to the names listed on your invitation. If your plus-one was not originally included and you’d like to bring someone, please reach out to us first. We truly appreciate your understanding as we work within the hotel’s capacity.
Yes! La Paz is considered one of Baja’s safest cities. The Malecon and Centro areas are walkable, lively, and welcoming.
Expect warm, sunny days and milder evenings. • Highs: mid-70s to low-80s • Evenings: mid-60s Pack sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and light layers for breezy evenings!
It’s safest to stick to bottled or filtered water for drinking and brushing teeth. Hotels usually provide purified water, you can always ask your hotel about the water situation!
Yes! There’s a huge great variety of restaurants in La Paz, everything from Italian, Mexican, Pizza/Burgers, but with the main focus of course on fresh seafood! Many to choose from, but a few of our favorites include: -Paciento: Amazing and reasonably priced fresh seafood a short walk on the Malecon. Arrive hungry because the portions are huge. -Bismark: Fresh seafood on the Malecon, along with some classic Mexican options. -Tres Virgenes: One block off the Malecon, highly rated grill with steak, seafood, salads, etc. -Quemadero: On the Malecon, highly rated for ambience and cuisine. Steaks, pasta, salads, seafood. -Tailhunter: On the Malecon, great vibe for a sunset cocktail.
Most places take credit cards, but cash is useful for taxis, tips, valet, and smaller vendors. The cheapest and safest way to get pesos is to withdraw from an ATM at a major bank in Mexico. This gives you the best exchange rate and is much better than airport kiosks or currency-exchange counters.
Yes. Most US phone carriers include Mexico roaming at no additional cost. WiFi is widely available in most hotels and cafes.
