We're married!

If there’s one thing 2020 has taught us, it’s that sometimes you gotta just roll with it...which we’ve all had to do, repeatedly, this year. We found out in early May that our June wedding had to be postponed due to the rise in Covid-19 cases. We worked with our venue to postpone our wedding to May of 2021. As June approached, we were feeling a little bummed we weren’t going to be able to get married this year like we had originally planned. To our surprise we found out that under these special circumstances, California was granting marriage licenses virtually to those who applied. Once again we were excited and hopeful! We reached out to our county and found out that we could in fact get married this year, making our 2020 wedding dreams a real possibility! We quickly began planning a small ceremony in the backyard of Nina’s childhood home. To make it even more special, Nina’s dad took an online course to become ordained so that he could officiate and marry us. On June 19th of this year we decorated the backyard, gathered our immediate families, and set up our laptop for the county clerk to video chat in to witness our wedding ceremony & make our marriage official! Although it wasn’t the big wedding we had envisioned, it was even more special than we ever could have imagined! 2020 has been a rough year for us all, and we thank you for rolling with all of the many changes surrounding our wedding.
