The first time Nick and Natalie met was at a football tailgate. Natalie wanted to take some pictures with her friends, but didn't want her Starbucks coffee cup in the picture. She asked a stranger to hold her coffee while she took a few pictures. Instead, this stranger stood behind Natalie and her friends and rested the coffee cup on Natalie's shoulder. This stranger turned out to be Nick and luckily there is photo evidence of this first meeting....Fast forward about 6 months later- Nick and Natalie were formally introduced at a fraternity dance. The theme of the dance was Cowboys and Indians. Natalie and 10 of her sorority sisters went to the dance with the same date! Natalie and her friend were both looking for someone to dance with. Natalie and her friend spotted two boys sitting at a table talking. Natalie's friend really wanted to dance with one of the boys so Natalie happily pulled the other boy on the dance floor. Nick and Natalie have been inseparable ever since!
Nick decided to finally (after 6.5 long years) pop the question at Natalie's favorite place- Lake Almanor, CA. Nick and Natalie went for a nice hike along Lake Almanor's west shore. After patiently waiting for the perfect moment, Nick took Natalie to the side of the trail and got down on one knee. Of course our labradoodle Hudson was there and was so excited for this special moment. Nick and Natalie celebrated their engagement with Natalie's mom at a family friend's party at the point on the peninsula of Lake Almanor, fireworks included!
