Question
How do I get on to the US Naval Academy Grounds?
Answer
UPDATE: 27MAY. Please double check that your name is exactly as it appears on your government issued ID as that is what we are using to make the base access list. All guests are allowed to walk or drive on to the Naval Academy through GATE 1 only. Parking is available in the Alumni Hall parking garage (see below for pin). If you have any sort of CAC or DBIDS please bring that as a form of ID to expedite base entry procedures. As of May 7, 2025 a REAL ID is required to access the United States Naval Academy if using a Driver’s License. Please ensure that you are REAL ID compliant to allow for entry to the Academy. A passport will also suffice for entry if you are not REAL ID compliant Driving is permitted, but we highly recommend walking for those that are able. If you driving on the yard, please park in the parking garage that is located across from Alumni Hall. This is approximately a 10 minute walk to the Chapel.

Where do I enter the Naval Academy?
Answer
Driving Guests are permitted to enter through Gate 1 only. All passengers are required to show a photo ID to the MA for entry. Proceed to the parking garage located across from Alumni Hall for parking. Please pay special attention to road signs as the yard is undergoing a lot of construction. Pin for Alumni Hall Parking: Intersection of Balch and Decatur Road Walking Guests / Taxi / Uber: Gate 1. This is approximately a 15 minute walk to the Chapel Leaving the Academy: After the reception, guests are permitted to exit through Gate 1.

What is the Dress Code?
Answer
The wedding will be Black Tie Optional. The wedding party will be in Naval Officer Dinner Dress Blues and the Sword Arch will be in Naval Officer Service Dress Whites. We suggest that men wear a tuxedo or a dark suit and tie and women wear an evening gown or knee length cocktail dress. For members of the military who wish to wear their uniform, we suggest Naval Service Dress Blues or respective service equivalent.

Which Airport do I fly into?
Answer
There are 3 major airports that serve the DC area. Dulles, Reagan, and BWI. BWI will offer the shortest travel from the airport to the Academy, but all three offer great options from all areas of the country.
