What are the addresses of the wedding ceremony and reception venues?

Answer

Both the Ceremony and Reception will take place at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden: 1800 Lakeside Ave, Henrico, VA 23228 Ceremony will take place at the Rose Garden. Reception will take place at the Robins Visitor Center. Guests will be directed upon arrival.

Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our evening ceremony will be outdoors in the Rose Garden, while cocktail hour and the reception will take place indoors at the Robins Visitor Center.

What time should I arrive at your wedding ceremony?

Answer

Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden will close to the public at 5:00 pm. We encourage our wedding guests to arrive by 5:00 pm to allow enough time to park and make their way to the Rose Garden to be seated for the ceremony (guests will walk to the garden on paved pathways). Ceremony to begin promptly at 5:30 pm.

What's the dress code for your wedding?

Answer

Summer cocktail attire - keep comfort in mind for the heat during our evening outdoor ceremony! Light fabrics with bright colors or florals are welcome (we'll be at a botanical garden after all!). Women can wear midi/maxi dresses or dressy jumpsuits, while men can opt for a lightweight suit - jacket optional. Please note that there will be a cobblestone pathway between the ceremony and reception venue. Please choose your footwear accordingly.

What is the weather like in the area?

Answer

In mid to late June in Richmond, VA: expect warm to hot, humid evenings, with temperatures dropping from daytime highs (often 80s-90s°F) to comfortable lows in the mid-to-upper 60s°F.

Am I allowed to bring a plus-one?

Answer

If "and guest" or your plus-one's name is written on your wedding invitation, you can bring someone.

Am I allowed to bring my children?

Answer

Yes, children are allowed. However, because of limited venue space, we unfortunately can't accommodate anyone beyond those named on your wedding invitation. We hope you understand our decision.

What type of food will be served at your wedding?

Answer

We'll be serving hors d'oeuvres at cocktail hour followed by a buffet dinner with a choice of entree, side and salad. There will be meat, fish, and vegetarian options available.

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

There will be an open bar for guests to enjoy throughout cocktail hour and the reception.

What time will your wedding reception end? Is there an after-party?

Answer

Our reception will end around 10 pm, after which there will be an after-party: meet us at the Byrdhouse (a rooftop bar on the 16th floor of the Graduate Richmond hotel, offering panoramic views of the city).
