A trip the Finger Lakes is not complete without visiting at least one winery! Anyelas is a great winery located in Skaneateles that has a wonderful variety of wines available for tasting. Come here for a relaxing afternoon for some wine, cheese and great conversations.
If you're here for a longer trip, we highly recommend venturing over to nearby Cayuga Lake for it's own wine trail. Cayuga Lake has 14 unique wineries to choose from (although we would not suggest going to all 14 in one day!) and claims to be America's first wine trail. Buttonwood Grove Winery is one of our favorites.
Ready to explore the local beer scene? Come visit Skaneateles Brewery with their taproom and brewhouse. Plenty of outdoor seating and a variety of beers to create your perfect flight with.
Skaneateles has a cute downtown area with unique stores to browse around.
Obviously if you are traveling to the lake you are looking for some swimming options! There is public swimming at at Clift Park. For non-residents it does cost $5.
The Charlie Major Nature Trail is a 1.5 miles (out and back) that still has the relics from a time long gone as you walk or ride this path. Look closely and you'll see remnants from the days of the railroad. Enjoy walking along the Skaneateles Creek and explore some of the side trails that will bring you down to the waterfront . You can find a playground at the Mottville Trailhead and a pathway to Skaneateles Brewery + Long Shot Distillery.
