Nick friend requested me over Facebook and of course I was giddy over the cute soccer player that popped up in my notifications. I liked his profile picture, and he shortly messaged me after. Our conversation circled around soccer and how excited we were to find out we would have gym class together next semester. We started talking more, and met up at a football game, where our 5 minute conversation consisted of him teasing me (which I know now means he REALLY liked me). After that, not a day went by where we didn't talk endlessly about nothing and everything at the same time.
After a dance-fail, rescheduled first-date, and a month of talking, Nick popped the girlfriend question in the Prospect High School hallway. The rest is history!
The weekend was already in full celebratory swing as were enjoying a successful end to Nick's first year of medical school. We went to Le Colonial, a restaurant we have been dying to try every time we had passed by. As we had both attended Loyola, our favorite thing to do after a dinner out together was walk around to city before we headed back to Rogers Park. Nick suggested we take a walk down the lakeshore path to change up our usual route. The weather was perfect, and the beach was buzzing. Eventually, we got down to North Avenue Beach and Nick offered to take some photos of me with the skyline in the back. As he came to show me the photos, he pulled me in, and got down on one knee. He pulled off the best surprise of a lifetime - the best day to date. Now, let's get MARRIED!!
