Mother of the Bride
Mom is my best friend and I could not imagine getting through Our Special Day without her there by my side.
Father of the Bride
Meeting Mr. Greene was one of the most intimidating things I have ever done. Mary always spoke of his Drill Sergent/Military past and strict behavior. However after meeting him I realize he and I have so much in common with our love of cooking and our strong work ethic. I am so thankful he has brought me into the family.
Mother of the Groom
The first time Mary Pat and I made plans to hang out without Nick, I was so nervous I thought I would throw up. However as soon as I walked through her front door she greeted me as if I was her own daughter and she has treated me that way ever since. I am so blessed to be gaining a Mother in Law with such a dear heart and sweet nature. Her smile and laughter will calm my nerves on Our Special Day.
Father of the Groom
My father has always been one of the largest influences in my life; in small ways like my sense of humor and love of the Green Bay Packers. He has been so in larger ways like work ethic and not least of all, how to treat others and your significant other. He's taught me many things and been there for even more. It obviously wouldn't feel right if he wasn't here for this as well.
Bridesmaid
We met in high school but our friendship didn't really blossom until college. I officiated her wedding. She knows me better than anyone else. She is my wild side and if anyone could give an embarrassing speech about me it would be her. Her sense of adventure and fun will keep me excited for Our Special Day.
Best Man
Miles and Bart were actually friends before Miles and I were. We all worked at Kroger together and they would hang out after work or on off days. One Friday, Bart was busy, so Miles asked if I wanted to go to the movies. We went and saw Couple's Retreat and the rest is history. That was 11 years ago. At this point, very little needs to be said, it's just understood with as little as a glance.
Bridesmaid
I met Staci through Nick. She is dating Nick’s brother Bart. The first time I met Staci I was so nervous because she was meeting the family, and I thought she was so much cooler than me that they would all like her better! Of course over time we’ve become super good friends and we’ve bonded over being the Schneider brothers’ better halves. She was there when I said yes and I need her to be there when I say I do.
Best Man
I shared a room with Bart for the first twenty years of my life. After high school, I just kind of got adopted by Bart and his group of friends. Bart, Miles and I got our first place together shortly thereafter. I guess an easy way to put it is this: At any given point in our lives, Bart and I have either lived, worked, or cooked together. The latter still happens plenty of the time.
Bridesmaid
We shared the swing set in elementary school and we've been the best of friends ever since. She embodies grace and poise and she can read my mind, which I know will come in handy on Our Special Day. AND she gets the award for traveling furthest for the wedding.
Groomsman
I haven't had the most opportunities to see Charlie, with the distance between Cincinnati and Birmingham. When we do get together he's been very easy to talk to, like I've been a part of the family forever. He's always been there with a listening ear or a good bit of advice for Mary and I. It helps that we can always bond over a good glass of bourbon as well.
Bridesmaid
Spanish II and Political Science were the common denominators bringing Liz and I together in college. She is my go-to for everything. She's my closest friend. She is not afraid to stand up and speak her mind and her eyeliner is always on point. Two things I know I'll need on Our Special Day.
Groomsman
I was on my second date with Mary when I met one of her best friends, Dave. He very quickly became one of my close friends as well. We've discussed a range of things; from food, to cinema, to random nerdy stuff. There is yet to be a topic I don't feel comfortable talking to Dave about.
Bridesmaid
Claire will be my sister-in-law!! Since meeting Nick, I have been blessed to be invited and warmly welcomed into his family. Claire is like a sister to me already. She is calm and collected and level-headed and everything I will need on Our Special Day.
Groomsman
When my Uncle Brian got married, his dad had to step in as best man when his brother fell ill for the ceremony. I always thought it was kind of neat that he had his father up there with him. Now that I'm getting married, it just felt right to have my dad up there with me.
Flower Girl
Saylor is my youngest (and arguably cutest) cousin. She is spunky and full of spirit. I can only hope her youthful energy will bring some joy to Our Special Day.
Ring Bearer
Naim is Miles’ son, whom I affectionately refer to as my nephew seeing as I refer to Miles as my brother. He is a big little man with a personality to match. And if he’s anything like his papa that personality will only get bigger. He ought to add plenty of fun to our fantastic day!
Wedding Planner
I am forever grateful for Sarah for being in my life both as a friend and a wedding coordinator. We never could have done this without your support and insight. Check out her website: www.thesubversivehomemaker.com
