We’re Getting Married!

We met at work. Nick was the Director of Facilities at Nemours/A.I. DuPont Hospital in Wilmington and I was the Manager of the Florida IT Ops Desk Side team at Nemours in Florida. Working in Florida and attending many enterprise meetings, Nick was familiar to me, I knew who he was and liked him from the start. Upon accepting a promotion and an opportunity that I could not refuse, I relocated to Wilmimgton, DE and became the Desk Side IT Operations Manager for the Delaware Valley at Nemours/A.I. DuPont Hospital. I started to engage in conversations via text and email with Nick as he was the Director of Faciities and I needed something from him. First was a heater for my office - which he never responded, then to help me locate an elevator pc that was at risk to our network. Nick was not responsive at all - I thought he hated me LOL. I would see him in meetings, walking in the hallways, and even at our in-house Einstein's. He was/is stunning and I just had a thing for him. Always did! Long story short, Nick decided to take another opportunity and leave Nemours in December 2022. When he approached me in the atrium at the hospital to tell me he was leaving, I about lost my heart. It fell completely to the floor, I was crushed! We stayed in contact via-Facebook, not really in contact until I invited him to what was supposed to be my going away happy hour. That was March 2022. Nick arrived and my heart skipped several beats. We talked and shared a cocktail together. During the night, he had to leave to another event and when I told him that I was going to the Tap House after I left, his eyes lite up and said "I'll meet you there". Surely he did and we have not spent one day apart since then!! Remaining in Delaware was the best decision I made and so happy that I did. He is the kindest, most loving and generous man I know. Who would have thought...Nick & Marly?? He is my best friend, my everything and I love him more than there is air to breathe. Heart & Soul Forever!

There have been many occassions where Nick has asked me to marry him. Each and every time, I said YES! The first was May 2022. I will never forget…we were watching his friends play at the Hilton in Christiana. He just looked at me from across the table and said “marry me”. I said what? He said “when are you going to marry me?” The official engagement was Tuesday, August 8th. As I was washing dishes he comes up behind me and puts the opened ring box in my face and says “so are we gonna do this or what!?” Lol typical Nick style. I was shocked and extremely happy and just started to shake. The ring is absolutely beautiful!!! Of course we went to celebrate TuesDATE like no other time before!
