Nick and Mari first connected through their love for dance. They met in college, while attending The University of Texas at Austin as dance majors. They started out as friends, dancing and performing together for about a year and a half. Come Summer of 2015, Nick began to have a special interest in Mari, seeking her out to talk more while she was away for the summer in San Francisco. Once they returned to school for the fall, he had asked Mariana out to dinner and picked her to go to Trudy's Tex-Mex. To this day he says it was not meant to be a date; however, Mariana certainly thought it was! What might have started as a casual hangout of dinner and conversation soon became the start of something wonderful and new! They soon found out that they both attended the same church, Austin Stone. They never ran into each other since Mari attended the morning services and Nick went in the evening. Upon learning about their shared faith, Nick began to attend Sunday morning services every week with Mari from then on. This was a game changer for the both of them and began the foundation of their relationship.

Their first official date was on December 15th, 2015. They made pizza from scratch and went to Austin's Trail of Lights. Something special had begun and they quickly became inseparable. They continued to date and dance together for the next three years; through both of their graduations, a year of long-distance, and a new chapter that they began in New York City for dance. Nick proposed on their 3 year anniversary on December 15th, 2018 along the Manhattan skyline at Brooklyn Bridge Park in Dumbo. A very good friend captured the moment all on camera and they continued to celebrate throughout the day that Nick had planned out. Nick and Mari are thrilled to begin this new chapter of life in marriage!
