We eloped! Now let's celebrate

We've always been sappy. It's never been a problem for us, even if we are publicly unbearable. We started dating when we were in separate cities. Every week we'd drive 100+ miles just to spend 48 hours together. When Madi was finishing her Master's in Austin, Nick suggested she come and live with him in College Station while he finished his. He made this suggestion over text. There's been a pattern of Nick being very casual about making very serious decisions, and Madi being pleasantly frustrated with his nonchalance. We moved into a small house together in Bryan as Madi started her career in Social Work and Nick finished his research at A&M. Then the big move: California. Nick got an offer for a Ph.D program at UC Berkeley, so we packed up our small house and made the drive out West. That was also a casual suggestion, and luckily Madi was ready for the adventure. North of Berkeley, we moved into a small apartment in Pt. Richmond, right by San Francisco bay. We'd spent 6 years together; we'd built a life together in two states; we'd traveled the country and the world together; getting married just seemed right. We've known for awhile that we were going to be sappy together forever. Now you know, too.
