It was the summer of 2017. Senior year of high school was imminent. An unacquainted Nick and Maddie were fighting their parents tooth and nail, doing everything they could to avoid being sent to SAT prep class. But it was no use - the parents won, and Nick and Maddie dragged themselves to class one fateful August evening (okay fine, Mom and Dad were right!). Nick arrived to class first, taking a seat by the door. Maddie walked in, took one look at those green eyes, and knew immediately what she had to do: sit as close to him as possible. The pair started talking almost immediately, and haven't stopped since. Over the next year, Nick and Maddie checked off all of the major senior year milestones: proms, college applications, graduations. College decisions were easy - Villanova for Maddie, and St. Joe's for Nick. Separated by a mere six miles, they were excited for whatever the next four years had in store. And boy, were those next four years fun! During their time at school, Nick and Maddie spent a lot of time on each other's campuses (and on I-76), getting to know (and love!) each other's roommates and newfound friends, and dreaming of their future together. Before they knew it, four years had flown by, and another round of graduations was upon them. Post-grad life for Nick and Maddie has been nothing short of a dream. Filling their time with trips everywhere from Nantucket to Naples to Nashville, summers spent lounging on the beach, and about one hundred new hobbies, they couldn't be happier. On April 19, 2025, Nick pulled out the big guns. He enlisted the help of their closest friends and family, stuck 150 pink roses and about a million candles into the sand, and tricked Maddie into thinking they were going to a family dinner. On their way to "dinner", he convinced Maddie to make a pit stop at the beach, where the rose and candle display awaited her arrival. He got on one knee, pulled her Nana's ring out of his pocket, and popped the question! As if it couldn't get better, he brought Maddie back to the DeVito's house, where their loved ones were patiently waiting, eager to throw confetti and pop champagne. Up next on their agenda? Celebrating with you! Nick and Maddie have been overwhelmed with gratitude for all of the love and support they have received during their engagement, and they can't wait to dance the night away with each and every one of you.
