Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens

This location is about 30-45 minute from the Lawrence area, but is a beautiful stop if you have a few extra hours or an extra day. In May so many plants are in bloom and this is an amazing location to take in beauty that surrounds us.

The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art

Baker Wetlands

This outdoor area is located outside of Lawrence and is maintained by Baker University, where Nick works. Its is great for those who want to see birds, and other local species to the area. There are a few different walking trails and it can accommodate those with different needs depending on the trail you take.

Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium

This is a favorite spot for Nick and Liz. This is where they had their first date and got engaged! We highly recommend checking it out if you have time.

Union Station Kansas City

Massachusetts Street

This is Lawrence's main downtown area. There are a lot of fun shops and places to eat!

Barker - Café & Bakery

Great coffee and pastries!

Sunflower Outdoor & Bike Shop

This may seem a little silly, but this bike shop is also a coffee shop and eatery. This is where Liz goes most often to get coffee on her breaks at work.

J. Wilson's Restaurant

If you are wanting a fancy dinner and great food, Nick and I highly recommend J Wilson's. Everything we have had from there has been amazing!

Johnny's Tavern West

This resturant is under the same ownership as J Wilson's but is a bit more casual. That being said, this is a go-to for Nick and Liz. While all of the food has been delicious, what they love to get is the Mac & Cheese with Grilled Chicken added. You can't mess up going there.

Terrebonne Po' Boys

Fields & Ivy Brewery
