One of Kiersten's favorite activities in Ouray. It's a true hidden gem! She takes her 4th graders here every year as well.
The owner/bartender goes by "Mr. Grumpypants." He serves your beer while sitting in a swing along a track behind the bar. Grab a burger next door at Maggie's, it's just beer here.
Smaller but more relaxing than the municipal pool. Hot spring vapor cave is a highlight.
Serene and relaxing hot springs. Note: clothing optional
This trail can be segmented into small sections, or spend a day hiking the entire perimeter. Something we still haven't done in it's entirety yet believe it or not! You can make the hike as hard or easy as you want - the photo is from a part of the trail during a field trip Kiersten took with 25 4th graders in tow. Read more on the linked website.

Delicious food and great beer!
Best tacos in the world. Literally.
Swanky town. You might have heard of it. Lots to do and see!
If the weather is nice, ask to sit on the roof top.
Grab lunch and enjoy a beer on the dog friendly patio if you fly or drive through Montrose.
The world’s second largest concentration of arches outside of Utah’s Arches National Park. The Rattlesnake Canyon Arches are one of Colorado’s most spectacular wonders, but also one of its best-kept secrets. Accessible only by a rough drive on a 4x4 track and a moderate hike or about a 15-mile round-trip trek from a trailhead west of Grand Junction. We recommend that a high clearance, 4-wheel drive vehicle be used to access this trail. Driving the last 2 miles is only recommended if you are experienced with a 4-wheel drive vehicle. These roads are impassable when wet, so keep the weather in mind. The Upper Road access is open from April 15 to August 14. The Lower Road access is open from August 15 to February 14.
We had our engagement shoot here! Great 23 mile "Rim Rock" drive and short hikes. Sheer-walled canyons, towering monoliths, colorful formations, desert bighorn sheep, and soaring eagles are all found at Colorado National Monument.
We're incredible fortunate to live 15 miles from this national park and love it dearly! Home to some of the steepest cliffs in the world, this canyon never disappoints! It is also a "dark sky" park, you've likely never seen so may stars in the night sky before!
