Things to Do in Buffalo

The Wedding Website of Katie Dearing and Nicholas Pizzone
We look forward to sharing Buffalo with our out-of-town guests. Please enjoy all of its historic, cultural, scenic, and culinary gems.
Albright-Knox Art Gallery

Albright-Knox Art Gallery

1285 Elmwood Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14222
, (716) 882-8700

The Albright -Knox Art Gallery is in the heart of Buffalo's cultural corridor and the sixth oldest public art institution in the United States. The collection includes many greats from Monet, Degas, and van Gogh to O'Keefe, Kahlo and Warhol. It is a quick walk from Hotel Henry and abuts Frederick Law Olmsted's Delaware Park.

Burchfield Penney Art Center

Burchfield Penney Art Center

1300 Elmwood Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14222
, (716) 878-6011

The Burchfield Penney Art Center is the only museum exclusively dedicated to the art and artists of Western New York and is a quick walk from Hotel Henry.

Delaware Park

Delaware Park

Meadow Dr., Buffalo, NY 14214

Delaware Park is the centerpiece of Buffalo's Olmsted parks system. Our favorite times in the park have included winter walks around the ring road, cocktails with friends at The Terrace, and running/walking through the park during the Turkey Trot. Be sure to check out the Japanese Garden - cherry blossoms should be in full bloom!

Liberty Hound

Liberty Hound

1 Naval Park Cove, Buffalo, NY 14202
, (716) 845-9173

We recommend Liberty Hound for drinks and snacks between the wedding and reception for guests who would like a taste of Buffalo's inner harbor.

Curtiss Hotel

Curtiss Hotel

210 Franklin Street, Buffalo, NY 14202
, (716) 954-4900

The Curtiss is a gorgeous boutique hotel in downtown Buffalo. Some of our favorite memories at the Curtiss include Christmas Day drinks at their revolving lobby bar and rooftop drinks with the Ortolanis, Osmans, and Interlichias.

Anchor Bar

Anchor Bar

1047 Main Street, Buffalo, NY 14209
, (716) 883-1134

Original home of the Buffalo Wing - need we say more?

Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls

332 Prospect St., Niagara Falls, NY 14303

If you've never been - you need to go! It is less than a 30-minute drive from Hotel Henry. Hopefully, it won't be frozen in May (kidding... kind of). If you have time, we recommend seeing the Falls via the Maid of the Mist (like Pam and Jim did).

Buffalo Waterfront

Buffalo Waterfront

Buffalo, NY 14203
, (716) 436-7100

Discover Canalside and the Outer Harbor of Buffalo. We have enjoyed exploring bike paths along Lake Erie, re-imagined grain silos, and ice rinks (Nicholas more than Katie).

Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site

Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site

641 Delaware Ave., Buffalo, NY 14202

The Wilcox Mansion is the site of Theodore Roosevelt's inauguration following the assassination of William McKinley during the Pan American Exposition in Buffalo in 1901.

Niagara-on-the-Lake

Niagara-on-the-Lake

Queen St., ON L0S 1J0, Canada

Less than an hour from Hotel Henry and on the shores of Lake Ontario, Niagara-on-the-Lake is a perfect day trip from Buffalo. Enjoy shops and restaurants (we recommend the Prince of Wales Hotel) on picturesque Queen Street, and sample Niagara Ice Wine at the area's many wineries. On a clear day, you will have a great view of Toronto across the lake.

For all the days along the way
