The Albright -Knox Art Gallery is in the heart of Buffalo's cultural corridor and the sixth oldest public art institution in the United States. The collection includes many greats from Monet, Degas, and van Gogh to O'Keefe, Kahlo and Warhol. It is a quick walk from Hotel Henry and abuts Frederick Law Olmsted's Delaware Park.
Delaware Park is the centerpiece of Buffalo's Olmsted parks system. Our favorite times in the park have included winter walks around the ring road, cocktails with friends at The Terrace, and running/walking through the park during the Turkey Trot. Be sure to check out the Japanese Garden - cherry blossoms should be in full bloom!
If you've never been - you need to go! It is less than a 30-minute drive from Hotel Henry. Hopefully, it won't be frozen in May (kidding... kind of). If you have time, we recommend seeing the Falls via the Maid of the Mist (like Pam and Jim did).
Less than an hour from Hotel Henry and on the shores of Lake Ontario, Niagara-on-the-Lake is a perfect day trip from Buffalo. Enjoy shops and restaurants (we recommend the Prince of Wales Hotel) on picturesque Queen Street, and sample Niagara Ice Wine at the area's many wineries. On a clear day, you will have a great view of Toronto across the lake.
