FAQs

Question

Subway

Answer

Aurora is off of the Bedford Ave stop on the L train, as well as the J/M/Z at Marcy Ave or the G at Metropolitan Ave. All MTA subway stations and buses now accept tap-to-pay credit cards directly at the turnstiles, one way fare is $2.90 flat rate no matter where you're going to/coming from (This includes in-station transfers). From Penn Station: Take the A/C/E downtown (1-3 stops) to 14th Street, transfer to the L train and take it 6 stops to Bedford Ave. From Grand Central Station: Take the 4/5/6 downtown (1-3 stops) to 14th Street/Union Square, transfer to the Brooklyn-bound L train and take it 3 stops to Bedford Ave.

Question

Parking in Brooklyn

Answer

If you park in a garage and plan to drive back that night, note that some garages close at 11pm/midnight. (See the Travel page for a link to parking garages.) If you park on the street, the neighborhood near Aurora is ticketed heavily. Look out for: - Driveways: Check for no parking signs or sloped curbs. The city rarely tickets these, but if you block someones access you risk getting towed. - Hydrants: The rule is 15 feet in either direction regardless of curb paint. - Street signs: Check the nearest street signs in front of and behind the spot (These may even be on the next block). The direction of the arrows on the sign will indicate which direction the rules apply.
