Like any modern day love story, ours started on social media. Katelyn’s profile would often pop up on Facebook as a friend suggestion. There was something about her picture that would always catch my eye. Every time I saw that picture with the sun shining in the background, it reminded me of an angel. One day, I decided I was just going to take a chance and just see what happens. After some overthinking and the help of a friend, we crafted the perfect opening message, “Hey! Dog mom huh?” We haven’t stopped talking since that day. A few weeks later, we went on our first date to El J’s, her favorite restaurant, and stayed until they closed. Then we talked for another few hours in the car before saying goodbye. On our second date, we went to Bodega Brew for coffee, followed by an antique store. The breakfast date turned into a dinner date because we just enjoyed being together. We both realized that we didn’t really care what we were doing, just that we were together. Over the next year and a half, we went through a ton of ups, and not very many downs. We learned from one another and talked through our problems and developed strong communication. We both knew that we could talk about anything and still feel safe and heard by the other. I started truly believing God put Katelyn in my life for a reason. I started going with her to Kings Cross church and this is where God really started working in our lives together. It became very clear to us that He had been orchestrating this whole union. Everything that has happened has just been confirmation that we were going to spend the rest of our lives together. We work so well together- it just makes sense. I knew that we were going to get married, so I decided to get the ball rolling. On January 27th, 2024, we walked around the streets of Downtown Savannah and “unexpectedly” ran into her friend Emily, who was really there to capture the moment. I dropped to one knee, and she said yes! We are very excited to share this day with our loved ones, and even more excited to start our new lives together. We both feel so blessed to have one another and pray that God will continue to be the foundation for our future. -Nick and Katelyn
