Kara and Nick met seven years ago the way many modern love stories begin: online! After a week of messaging and discovering we lived less than a mile apart, we planned our first date. When we finally met face to face, Nick was completely speechless. Dinner and drinks in Huntington Beach turned into hours of conversation. We quickly realized we loved the same bands, could quote Austin Powers line for line, and had so much fun together from the very start. Although Nick refused to share his French fries, Kara decided he was worth a second date. A few dates later, Nick was certain he had found his dream girl. Kara wanted to take things a little slower before making it official, but Nick was not going anywhere. Over the next two months, we spent nearly every free moment together. We shared cozy nights in, fun nights out, and more charcuterie boards than we can count. After a romantic Italian dinner one evening, Kara finally decided she was ready, and Nick happily became her boyfriend. Over the years, we have built a life filled with beautiful memories, many of them made on the road together. We love taking weekend trips, whether it is visiting the San Diego Zoo, driving up the coast to Santa Barbara, or escaping to Big Bear. We have explored national parks like the Grand Canyon, but our favorite adventure yet was exploring Montana and Yellowstone National Park. We also love going to concerts together! A few favorites include Duran Duran, Nine Inch Nails, Alice Cooper, and Cruel World Festival, where we saw Billy Idol, Gary Numan, and so many other incredible bands. One of our favorite chapters has been raising our baby dachshund, Marlow. We rescued him at just three months old after his owner tragically passed away. He has been the light of our lives ever since, and life with him has been so much fun. At its heart, our love story is beautifully simple. We make each other laugh, even on the hardest days. We choose each other every single day, in the big moments and the small ones. We find joy in quiet mornings, spontaneous adventures, and the little everyday routines that have become ours. We have learned that we do not need anything extravagant to be happy. As long as we have each other, we have everything. We are so excited to start this next chapter as husband and wife and cannot wait to celebrate with all of you!
