Our Story

Our story dates back to the year 2006! At the ripe ages of 12 and 13, Nick and Jordan met when they were on the same rec team at summer camp - then played in the local church band together shortly after (she sang/he played bass if you must know). Being awkward & in middle school, they became better friends in high school and into college. In 2014, Nick made the first move at Jordan's house while watching Harry Potter with their friends, and Jordan wasn't mad about it. A few months later, they kissed for the first time in Big Bear. Scared that this would ruin the friendship, the two proceeded to be friends....with the occasional kiss here and there. What? It was college! Friendship made the most sense after months of teetering on the edge of friendship and romance. Skip ahead to 2018 and some emotional maturity later, it was clear Nick and Jordan still had feelings for each other. They snuck a kiss before Jordan left for 6 months in Thailand, which meant much of her time away was spent wondering about him. Once she got home and they realized how much they missed each other, they decided to take the leap and try dating for real this time. The two officially became boyfriend and girlfriend (to their close friends' relief) on March 17th, 2019.

The Proposal

On Friday, February 3rd, 2023, Nick arranged for Jordan's manager to let her team off an hour early, which allowed Nick to ask Jordan if she wanted to go watch the sunset at "their spot" (John Wayne Park in Newport Beach) with a bottle of wine. Jordan had an inkling this may be the day once he said this, and was nervous/excited all day. About ten minutes into watching the sunset, Nick offered Jordan his jacket, and grabbed the ring box out of his pocket. After some sweet words and tears, Jordan said yes and got to admire the beautiful ring they designed together. Their friends, Mary Claire & Matt, emerged from a car nearby, taking photos. After a quick stop at home to see their pup Winnie, Mary Claire suggested they go for a "celebratory drink" at a local coffee/wine shop called Milligram. They all walked over, and to Jordan's shock and surprise, all of their closest friends and family were out on the patio when they arrived. Not wanting the night to end post-Milligram, they made their rounds around Costa Mesa celebrating with friends at Pie Society for pizza & cocktails, then 90's night at the Wayfarer. It was the most joyful night that will be forever engrained in their hearts!

For all the days along the way
