Hotels, Airbnbs, etc.
Charlotte is a large city with plenty of accomodations, it's hard to recommend just one or two, but generally we'd recommend staying closer to the center of the city so you'll have more to do during your stay! Though we live in Matthews (worth a visit) we plan to stay in this area as well (a staycation of sorts) so you may see us out and about! However if you do choose to stay closer to the wedding venue, consider the University City area (closer to the school itself the better/safer.) The wedding venue is about 15-20 mins from the center of town. Please do your research if you plan to stay elsewhere and don't hesitate to ask us or another local! The Charlotte Marriott City Center is very close to the welcome party space though anywhere Uptown is walkable, and is probably the best balance between luxury and affordability, though there are many higher end and alternatively, budget options, as well as countless AirBnb and Vrbo type accommodations.

Airport Info
Charlotte Douglas International is Charlotte's main airport, though there is some low cost service into Concord Regional Airport as well. Charlotte is busy, so give yourself plenty of time, especially when leaving back home.

Getting Around
First and foremost, you will need a car to get to the wedding. Whether you hire one, have a designated driver, or hitchhike is up to you. We know this isn't ideal, but it's not too far, and because it's rural, we can be a little rowdy. This is one of the main reasons we recommend staying where we did. The dinner/welcome party are walkable from many places Uptown. Charlotte also has plenty of electric scooters to rent, a light rail line (for those staying in Southend, NoDa or the University City area, this is a good option) and of course you can always call an Uber/Cab.

Will there be a shuttle?
Right now we are still exploring transportation options, however as of now, please arrange your own transport as suggested above, but check back here for updates closer to the wedding. We will say that if more people take our advice and stay Uptown, a shuttle may be viable. Also check with your hotel for car service, etc.
