Please RVSP by May 25, 2025. Keep an eye out for invitations in the mail for more information.
Both the ceremony and reception will be held indoors but we hope you enjoy the Pittsburgh summer weather outside when you can. In June, the average low temperature is 60F and the average high is 80F.
We recommend cocktail or formal attire.
We chose June for our wedding because it is our favorite season in Pittsburgh. The days are long with warm nights and the city parks are lush and vibrant with green. If you have time, we hope you can hike in Frick Park or take a bike ride down by the rivers to see why we love Pittsburgh so much. We don't have a specific color palette for the wedding but rather are using natural colors from local flowers. Keeping with our love with nature, sustainability is very important to us. We have created a small registry but hope not to create too many physical things from our wedding day. Instead, we want to focus on the people and music and food and surroundings. Community to also a key theme when planning so we hope everyone is comfortable and has moments to reflect on these topics throughout the weekend, and perhaps interpret them with your own style.
Stay tuned for more information. In the meantime, check of the Things to Do tab.
Currently, we plan to offer vegetarian and gluten free options. If you have any other requests, please reach out to us ahead of time.
Pittsburgh is very accessible by car. The bus system also works well if you stay in a neighborhood near Oakland. If you plan to use public transportation, we recommend downloading the Ready2Ride app ahead of time as many bus stops do not have a way to pay with credit card. A 3 hour bus pass is $2.75 and an all day pass is $7.
Generally, it is easy to find street parking in Pittsburgh for free or a low hourly rate. Oakland is one of the exceptions and parking is trickier there. For the ceremony, the police will close a lane of Bellefield Avenue, directly outside Heinz Chapel, for guests to park 11:15am-1:15pm on the day of the wedding. This lane holds approximately 30 cars. For the reception, there will be complimentary valet parking at Pittsburgh Golf Club
We ask that only children under 2 attend the wedding.
Oakland- For those in Pittsburgh for the first time, we recommend Primanti Brothers on Forbes Ave. They serve locally famous sandwiches with french fries and coleslaw inside. Forbes Ave on Pitt's campus has a large range of quick counter restaurants such as Roots Natural Kitchen. We also enjoy Union Grill on Craig St for lunch or dinner. For drinks, we recommend the rooftop bar at the Oaklander Hotel for a view of the whole city. Shadyside- Some of our favorite restaurants in Shadyside include Noodlehead (Thai), Mad Mex (Mexican), Girasole (Italian), Pho and Roll Vietnamese Kitchen, Mercurios (pizza/gelato), and Lorelai (beer hall with pizzas). Squirrel Hill- Everyday Noodles, Ramen Bar, Kiin Lao & Thai Eatery, Independent Brewing, Hidden Harbor Regent Square- D's Six Pax and Dogs, Frick Park Tavern, Hemlock House
Feel free to reach out to us at anytime. Having a comfortable and stress-free day for everyone is really important to us and we want to help out ahead of time any way we can.
