During the day feel free to enjoy one of New England's finest beaches! Since this will be after Labor Day, access to the beach is free of charge. Enjoy a beach stroll down to Narrow River, and be sure to grab sandwiches from Surfside Deli for later too.
Enjoy window shopping at the many locally-owned shops in downtown Wakefield. One of our favorites is the Glass Station! There is also a ton of great food options here. If you're in the mood for a good diner breakfast check out Meldgie's. For lunch or dinner, some our favorites include Purslane, Duck Press, and Mews Tavern. If you want a delicious coffee for your walk around town step into Caf Bar. Finish out your day with some of the best ice cream at Brickley's!
A short 25 minute drive, Newport is ideal this time of year. Stroll along the Cliff Walk for amazing views of the coastline and the historic mansions. Take a tour of the Breakers for some history on Newport's Gilded Age. Browse the shops along the waterfront on Bowen's Wharf. There are also great places to eat in Newport including the Black Pearl, Clarke Cooke House, and the Mooring, among many others. Drinks at the Chanler or Castle Hill Inn never disappoint, as well.
