Welcome

Welcome family and friends. As we all know, this past year has been nothing short of countless challenges and daily struggles. Thankfully, Nick and Evelyn have managed to stay strong throughout this worldly crisis and are beyond enthusiastic to finally getting married. I am sure most of you are wondering, why Idaho? With having to cancel their original wedding date in 2020, they chose not to take a risk of going through another planning process in California, if the State so chooses to shut down due to the pandemic, again. The lovely couple took a family road trip last summer, to 100 Acre Woods Lodge in Idaho. This stunning location is owned by family friends and are overjoyed to host their Gatsby themed wedding. Nick and Evelyn are completely empathetic knowing that not every loved one will be able to join them, whether it's due to Covid, the location or for other personal reasons. They love each and every one of you and are understanding to those whom are unable to attend.

How They Met

November 2013

The couple actually met online, through Match.com. Nick’s Aunt Kim gave him the best advise ever and suggested to try online dating. Now, who would have thought Nick would meet his future wife and mother of his children, all on a “free trial”? Needless to say, Evelyn expressed to Nick that he was paying for many, many, many dinners to come, since he essentially got a free pass………and to Nick, your welcome! After texting and chatting for a few weeks, they finally met in person. Nick, being the gentleman that he is, kindly asked Evelyn, what she would like to do. Since they were meeting on a Sunday, Evelyn instantly mentioned, anything that involves watching the Niners game. So, their first date encompassed several mini dates, which started off with Nick’s favorited brunch spot, Bill’s Café and ended with Ev’s favorite dinner spot, Opa, and possibly some wine tasting and a movie in between. Oh yes, and the day even involved Evelyn meeting Nick’s closest friends, and her providing them all with a round of Patron shots………. which practically sealed the deal.

Everything In Between

2014 - Proposal

The first six months for Nick and Ev were beyond wonderful. They met both sides of their families, traveled, camped, attended sporting events, beer festivals, friend game nights, and even got a monthly wine subscription together. Sounds like a match made in heaven, and it truly was and still is. But unbeknownst to them, their lives were about to change. Yep, they were expecting their first child, a son. On February 23, 2015, Nick and Evelyn became proud parents of their first child, Parker James. Then shortly after, became proud home owners in Rancho Cordova, just outside of Sacramento. Relocating meant uprooting their Bay Area roots, leaving their careers and friends behind to create a new family beginning. After being apart of a new community of friends and neighbors, they were expecting another bundle of joy. August 6, 2017, the lovely couple had just become parents to a beautiful daughter, Giulianna May. As their family began to grow, so did Nick’s career, in which he was offered a new position he couldn’t refuse. This meant the family of four, was headed to Reno! Thankfully, Nick’s parents lived in Reno, which was the perfect situation. The kids adored spending time with their grandparents while Nick and Ev enjoyed exploring the new area and taking advantage of date nights and everything in between. Then the unexpected happened, yet again…..the love birds were expecting in September of 2019.

The Proposal

February 9, 2019

Nick and Evelyn got engaged in Tahoe, which on this day, was the worst snow storm of the season. Overall, during their stay, Tahoe received several feet of snow within 24 hours. So, let's get to how it all went down. Nick orchestrated an overnight stay at The Beach Retreat & Lodge in Tahoe. Evelyn definitely knew something was up his sleeve, as he could never hide anything because he was too excited to ever keep a quiet mouth. Upon arriving in Tahoe, the couple enjoyed a nice lunch and walked around Heavenly Village. Evelyn being very suspicious, was scoping out Nick’s snow clothes, trying to gage if a ring box was in one of his pockets. However, Nick was clever too, he didn’t have it on him, at that exact moment. When they returned to their room, Nick and Evelyn took a stroll down to the water. The view of Lake Tahoe was absolutely stunning and they were even greeted by a few ducks floating on the water. Nick then, turned to Evelyn and said, “There’s another reason why I brought you here.” As Nick retrieved the ring from of his jacket and kneeling down on one knee, Evelyn was so overjoyed and nervous that she couldn’t stop shouting, “I knew it, I knew it, I knew it”. Nick, being the gentleman that he is, calmly tells her, “would you let me finish”. Evelyn was mortified and deeply apologetic. Nick opened the box and it was the exact ring that Evelyn had showed him almost two years prior. Evelyn was so delighted, that she stuck her hand out and Nick placed the ring on her finger. The newly engaged couple freshened up, put on their winter attire and headed out into the storm for a nice dinner at a lovely Italian Restaurant, Isabella’s. The sweetest part of the evening, was discussing the name of their expecting child. While Nick was overlooking the menu, he blurted out, “Isabella? What a beautiful name, if we have another girl.” Evelyn completely agreed. Sure enough, several months later, Isabella Rose was born on September 19, 2019.
