Emma and Nick met on December 14th, 2013 in a now defunct bar called the Electric Cowboy in Westminster, CO. Purely happenstance that they bumped into each other; Nick was on one side of a half wall, Emma on the other, and the flirting began. They danced, laughed, Nick left his sport coat with Emma, in the hopes of getting a real date (she donated it shortly after). Alas, it never materialized. Flirty chatting and conversation would turn into "let's go hang out, even just as friends" and it wouldn't come to pass despite a mutual understanding that there was something pretty special about the other. Always in the periphery of each other, there would be a reach out, a flurry of text conversations, but no follow through. After a while, this connection faded, and it seemed clear that they were two ships in the night. Until Emma sent Nick a LinkedIn request (hot). Then found each other on Instagram. Then exchanged numbers and started talking. That same spark of flirtation and friendship rekindled. They went on a real first date to Podium Karting and Mexican food and haven't stopped hanging out since. Stargazing at Flagstaff Mountain, playing with the pups at Evergreen Lake, meeting friends, family, drive-in movies, holidays apart and together, love letters, road trips, music, and overall, falling head over heels, to come to this conclusion: This is who I want to spend the rest of my life with. Whatever comes my way, I want to tackle it next to them. While there are more details to the story, the gist is that we were the right people, at the wrong time, until the time wasn't wrong anymore.
