Our story started at Miami University circa 2015-2019, but we didn't know each other then. Our Freshman dorms were just across Maple Street from one another! Emily and Nick actually met in 2021 at Emily and her roommate (and now Bridesmaid), Lisa's housewarming party. Emily had moved to Chicago from Cincinnati to reprise her role as Lisa's roommate. Lisa's boyfriend (now husband), Mike, had a friend Nick from college, who had returned to Chicago from Seattle that same summer. Lisa thought Emily and Nick would hit it off, so she asked Mike to invite him to their housewarming party. Lisa was right! Equally monumental, Nick and Earl met that night. Nick and Emily have been together ever since! Their first date was at Parson's. Nick knew Emily liked him because she had gotten back from Europe the day before their date. Emily knew Nick liked her when she and Lisa hosted a wig themed party, and Nick played along wearing a wig even when most of their friends didn't. In the 4.5 years since, Nick and Emily have shared a love of travel together. From their first vacation to New York City, to Nick's first trip to Europe when they went to Munich and explored Austria together. And a bucket list trip to the French Riveria in May of 2025. They've shared miles, from local Chicago races like The Shamrock Shuffle to out of state races like the Flying Pig Half Marathon in Cincinnati. Nick and Earl even ran the Flying Fur together one year, Earl placed in the top half. Together they've hosted a wide cast of foster dogs; Nick's favorite Luther and Emily's Sunny. Don't tell the other dogs! And they've continued to build a life and home in Chicago. In the summer of 2025 they got engaged on Lake Michigan, Emily's favorite place in the city. We've been looking forward to this day for so long and are so happy to be celebrating with all of our favorite people! We hope that the love that we share for each other and all of you surrounds every moment of our Wedding day.
