Saville Dam

This is where Nick and Diana plan to take their wedding photos. Saville Dam is an earthen embankment dam with masonry work on the eastern branch of the Farmington River in southwestern Barkhamsted, Connecticut. The dam is 135 ft. tall and 1,950 ft. long and has an uncontrolled spillway on its western portion.

Avery's Beverages

Avery's is one of the oldest soda bottling companies in New England and our soda is still made in the same red barn on Corbin Avenue. Avery's continues to be a family run business that strives to provide the highest quality products and outstanding customer service. They have a really funny 'Totally Gross Soda' collection that will make you laugh.

New Britain Museum of American Art

Nick and I went here on one of our first dates. We are big fans of museums and art, please feel free to check out this wonderful museum on your visit. The New Britain Museum of American Art is an art museum in New Britain, Connecticut. Founded in 1903, it is the first museum in the country dedicated to American art.

Peoples State Forest

Peoples State Forest is a short drive from Barkhamsted / New Hartford. If you want to see some fall foliage on your trip, this will be a great spot to see it.

Mark Twain House

We went to the Mark Twain house for a company networking event when we both worked at the Hartford Courant and FOX 61. The Mark Twain House and Museum in Hartford, Connecticut, was the home of Samuel Langhorne Clemens and his family from 1874 to 1891. It was designed by Edward Tuckerman Potter and built in the American High Gothic style

Mohegan Sun Casino

We went on a date here to see Dane Cook (he wasn't that funny on that particular night). We had a great date though!

Foxwoods Resort and Casino (Connecticut)

Broad Street

New Britain has the largest Polish population of any city in CT with many residents considering the city's Broad Street community as its heart. Affectionately referred to as "Little Poland", the vibrant neighborhood has been home to an exceedingly large number of Polish businesses and families since 1890. In recent years, the Polish community has been credited with revitalizing the area both culturally and economically. Visitors to the Broad Street neighborhood have the opportunity of being able to conduct the entire day's business completely in Polish. Within the span of a few blocks, the Polish District boasts its own contracted U.S. Post office, a Polish Mall, banks, real estate agents, accountants, several travel agencies, a dance school, European day spas, hair salons, restaurants, delis, European cafes, grocery stores, jewelers, 3 Polish language newspapers, a tanning salon, a TV station, and even law firms that offers legal consultations entirely in Polish.
