Maid of Honor
Amy and I have been best friends since we were 14, when I had orange hair from a bad "Glints" dye job and she wore 12 purple hair clips and purple converse. She is my first love and knows everything about me. Our inside jokes run so deep I don't even know where half of them came from anymore, all I know is when we make one, we BWA uncontrollably. She is deeply loyal, supremely talented, incredibly warm (unless she's in a bad mood), super supportive, and ridiculously funny ... all the things you could ask for in a best friend! (Friendship Est. 1995)
Best Man
Danny has been my best friend for longer than I realized. Whether it was having dumplings and watching West Wing reruns or going to the movies at 11am on a Tuesday or getting coffee and saying about 8 words to each other while we quietly sipped, there wasn't anyone I'd rather spend time with (until I met Danielle). He is the kindest, warmest, most welcoming person you'll ever meet and I couldn't imagine having anyone else standing next to me on the most important day of my life. (Brotherhood Est. 1984)
Bridesmaid
E and I were randomly chosen by a computer to be roommates at Boston University. She was a horse-riding, environmentally conscious ballerina from upstate New York, and I was a Backstreet Boys loving, musical theatre nerd from Los Angeles, and, somehow, it was a match made in heaven. E is the kind of friend who will send a card just because she knows you might need it. She inspired me to be a more thoughtful and aware person. I like to think I inspired her to get on a plane for the first time ha. E and her family are my family. Lucky for me, she somehow ended up in LA, so she can still cook for me. (Friendship Est. 1999)
Groomsman
Geoff is very tall and very handsome. That's not why we're friends, but it doesn't hurt. I replaced him as a staff member in the Recreation Department for the city of Yorba Linda after he was unjustly fired for the shenanigans of a co-worker involving some questionable content on a work computer but that's neither here nor there. Whether it was with a laugh, a kind word, a cold beverage or some wisdom that I really needed to hear, Geoff has always been there for me, except when he abandoned his friends and moved away to Michigan. (Brotherhood Est. 2001)
Bridesmaid
My first memory of Jackie is being jealous of her perfect "scrunchie" socks and cute shoes as we both waited on the Riverside Dr. stairs for parents to pick us up after school freshman year. Jackie is the friend you turn to when you need to see the positive in any situation. She is a ball of excitable energy and never misses an opportunity to snap a group photo. Upon meeting her, you can expect a high-pitched "HIIIIII," giant smile and big hug. She's also incredibly caring and thoughtful, and always ready to celebrate her friends' life moments, big and small. (Friendship Est. 1996)
Groomsman
I'm kinda smart and kinda funny but I wish I was as smart and funny as Adam is. From a sketch comedy group to the Everyman Pentathlon (I can explain later), Adam has been the ringleader behind some of our best and most creative hijinks. Beyond his acerbic wit, high-class sensibility and general smart-assery is a warmth and kindness that is hard to describe. I cherish his friendship and it's also pretty nice living two doors (NOT three doors) down from him in Los Feliz. One day Adam will fulfill his dream of owning a boat and we will all be richer for it. (Brotherhood Est. 2007)
Bridesmaid
I met Jen in high school through Amy. Together, while our classmates were going to parties and finding people to buy them beer, the three of us would spend our weekends cruising around the valley in Jen's red Toyota 4Runner with sugar free Ice Blended's from "Bean" and feeding our Backstreet Boys obsession (BSB 4-eva). True story, Jen paged me (yes, paged) one weekday when she was home sick. It was a 911-BSB page, so obviously I left class immediately to call her from the school payphone. She broke the news to me that Brian Littrell (of the Backstreet Boys) was engaged. I cried. Jen lives in Chicago now and is my private skin care consultant/personal therapist. (Friendship Est. 1996)
Groomsman
Mike lives in Vermont and that makes me sad because we can't get tiki drinks in Ventura on a regular basis anymore. But his wife is an all-around badass that teaches the entire state of Vermont how to save people's lives so that's pretty cool. But Mike is no slouch himself. After spending the better part of 15 years in TV, Mike successfully acclimated to life in Burlington and has fully ensconced himself into Vermont culture. Unfortunately, his body is now 17% craft beer and maple syrup. The prognosis is dire but we hope he'll make it to the wedding because I need to talk to him about all of the latest NBA news and hopefully plan another trip to the Vegas Summer League. (Brotherhood Est. 2007)
Bridesmaid
Denise and I met in NYC, and after a long courtship (I played hard to get), became inseparable. I like to think that she made me a little more adventurous (we traveled to Costa Rica and Iceland together), and that I made her a little more aware of pop culture (before me, her reference points were country music and National Lampoon references). We were two single ladies supporting each other through online dating shenanigans that we would dissect at her studio apartment on the Upper West Side over Chipotle bowls and cheap red wine. She forced me to adopt her beloved Buckeyes and I welcomed her into the disappointment that is being a Jets fan. And together, we drank all the wine in New York City. (Friendship Est. 2011)
Groomsman
Jeff is my conscience, my consigliere, my Jiminy Cricket. Our friendship was formed over countless weekday mornings hanging out at Jeff's job at Yorba Ranch Video in my late teens and early 20s (when I was supposed to be in class, but this ended up being much better time spent). He's bounced around a bit over the years and settled down in Sacramento. We haven't seen each other as often as I'd like but there's no one I've spent more time talking to in my life, other than Danielle or just muttering to myself. He knows me better than I know myself sometimes... and he had the most amazing jumping and dunking ability of any white guy I had the pleasure of playing basketball with (RIP Jeff's athletic ability - Brotherhood Est. 2001)
Bridesmaid
Julie is basically my sister. We share an intense love of romcoms, Felicity, and each other. She is the kind of friend that will always make time for you, even if she's in the thick of it with her two little ones. When I first moved back from NYC and was having a bit of a tough time, some of my favorite nights consisted of Jules, Kev (her husband/our officiant) and I eating "Julie's Island Dream Tacos" (a Kev specialty) and watching the first season of "This Is Us," which sometimes ended with all of us falling asleep on the couch. She also coaches me through fashion decisions regularly. (Friendship Est. 1996)
Groomsman
You know how everyone needs a friend to help you hide a body? I'm not saying Dave is that friend, but you know what I'm saying (wink wink). Dave is from Chicago and enjoys the Cubs, the Bears, the Blackhawks, undying loyalty to friends, and a stiff drink. He is also my lawyer and once you have finished reading this it constitutes as a binding legal agreement to which you are beholden and legally compelled to do anything and everything he tells you to do at the wedding, in perpetuity. (Brotherhood Est. 2006... or 2007? Not sure. There was drinking involved.)
Bridesmaid
Karla is quite simply one of the funniest people you will ever meet. We share type A, super planner personalities, and used to joke about opening an event planning company together (or was it an exercise studio, hmm). In high school, we starred in David Mamet's groundbreaking "Revenge of the Space Pandas" together. This is not a joke, this play exists. Google it. Although we haven't lived in the same city for almost 20 years, Karla always makes an effort to be there for life's big moments. She is also the queen of photo calendars. (Friendship Est. 1996)
Groomsman
Bryan (aka Reeder) has been my Big Brother since I was 18 years old, when we met working together for the City of Yorba Linda. He welcomed me into his group of friends and into his family and I honestly can't imagine my life without him. After countless camping trips, rounds of golf, season after season of rec league basketball, nights out at his dad's bar, trips to see friends all over the country, chats about baseball and the Lakers and family and just growing up, I can't overstate how much it has all meant to me... just know that I love this man and you will too. (Brotherhood Est. 2000)
Bridesmaid
Ellen loves the 90's. That's the first thing you should know ... especially "the jams." Ellen is a loyal and loving friend and a top notch hostess. If you are in need of a 90210 marathon, some delicious homemade guacamole, a spicy margarita and a good laugh, Ellen is your girl. She is currently my neighbor and work out buddy, and we are both still getting over the fact that our early morning Zumba class was cancelled. Such a travesty. (Friendship Est: 1996)
Groomsman
Jon Thomas (he's always "Jon Thomas"... or sometimes "JT"... but never just "Jon") is a radiant light in my life and an endless supplier of fart jokes and impressions and voices and laughs that sustain my soul. I've had the pleasure of laughing a lot in my life but I'm not sure I ever laugh harder on a more consistent basis than when I'm with him. Watching how Jon has gone from the life of the party to settling down and starting a family sometimes almost moves me to tears... and then he tells a fart joke. (Brotherhood Est. 2004)
Junior Bridesmaids
Danielle's beautiful and talented little sisters ... both are undeniably creative in every sense of the word. You can expect a dance-off with all three sisters at some point in the evening.
Rainbow Girl
This beautiful little miss is Erica (and Chris's) daughter. Never one to conform to societal expectations, Regina has kindly requested that she be referred to as "Rainbow Girl" instead of "Flower Girl," so please honor this wish. Unfortunately, it's not possible to toss rainbows (at least not yet?), so she has agreed to toss flower petals.
Usher & Reader
Billy is Danielle's little brother and professional beard grower. He is a man of many talents, including music, mechanics and cooking (a skill that does not come naturally to his sister).
Reader
Tiffany is Nick's sister-in-law and style consultant. She enjoys dogs and mashed potatoes and if you offer her a dog made of mashed potatoes, you have made a friend for life. Lastly, she has immaculate handwriting and helped us with all of your place cards, so if there's an error, blame her.
Officiant
Kevin is warm, welcoming and an all around gentleman. He's also married to Julie, so he's obviously got great taste. Kev is a wonderful husband and father, and a person who truly values all of the relationships in his life, both family and friends, as much as we do. We couldn't think of a more perfect person to marry us.
