Question

A Vampire Ball? I thought this was a wedding.

Answer

The best way to describe this event is a vampire ball that also includes a wedding beforehand. It has been one of my (Courtney) dreams to attend the vampire ball hosted in our second-favorite city (New Orleans) every year. Since it's an exclusive event, we wanted to host our very own vampire ball with the people we love and care about. The first part of the event will be a non-traditional gothic wedding, followed by an elegant vampire-themed ball in place of a conventional reception.

Question

Whats the dress code?

Answer

Black-Tie: For those who would like to dress in a feminine style, we request floor-length gowns or formal cocktail dresses. For masculine attire, tuxedos are not required despite the black-tie dress code; however, suits are mandatory.

Question

Is this a costume party?

Answer

NO, this is not a costume party. Dress code will be enforced with extreme prejudice.

Question

Is this a Halloween wedding?

Answer

NO, this is not a Halloween wedding. While the theme is dark, macabre, and may evoke feelings of celebrating Halloween, this event is an elegant vampire-inspired ball, not a Halloween party.

Question

Do I get a plus one?

Answer

Yes, all guests get a plus one. Refer to your invitation and RSVP cards for more information.

Question

When is the RSVP Deadline?

Answer

Please RSVP by September 11th, 2026.

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be held outdoors, weather permitting. The cocktail hour and the ball will be held indoors, with limited outdoor spaces available.

Question

Is this wedding kid-friendly?

Answer

Given the subject matter and the presence of a lot of (fake) blood, this will be an adults-only occasion.

Question

Where is the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Both the ceremony and vampire ball are located at Meyer's Castle (1370 Joliet St., Dyer, IN, 46311).

Question

Will there be a hotel block?

Answer

Yes, rooms have been reserved at the Hyatt in Munster, IN. The hotel is 10 minutes from the venue. See the Travel section for group code and links. See below for shuttle information.

Question

Will there be a shuttle from the hotel to the venue?

Answer

Yes, there will be a shuttle bus service which will both pick up guests from the hotel and bring them back after the ball.

Question

Are we allowed to take pictures/videos?

Answer

Please no pictures/videos during the ceremony to make our photographer's job easier. However, during the cocktail hour and vampire ball, we enthusiastically encourage pictures and videos as long as you send the best ones to us afterward. :)

Question

Will there be menu options for vegtetarians and other dietary restrictions?

Answer

Yes, there will be a vegetarian option available for dinner. Please see the RSVP and invitation for more information.

Question

What time should we arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

Guests should plan on arriving between 5:30 pm - 5:50 pm CST. If you are late, you will be consequently eaten during the following ball.

Question

What will be the evenings entertainment?

Answer

We will be having a live band performance by The Brown Line Boys. Here is a link to our Spotify playlist, which includes a smattering of tracks to give you an idea of what to expect. These songs were specifically requested by Nick and Courtney, given their eclectic taste. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0lsfaKkIyGFj1uQuXJ4TLA?si=EdlALvV2RGOl-5meA422HQ&pi=snuHyuqFTmiLv
