The tale of how Nick and Cassie met is one of the purest love stories that will withstand the test of time for all eternity. The type of love story that surpasses the likes of Jack & Rose and Romeo & Juliet but with wayyyy less tragedy. It all began during the times of Covid when Nick was sitting on his couch, undoubtedly 2-3 Jamesons deep, swiping along on Hinge until he came across Cassie’s profile. Overjoyed with everything he saw, he swiped right and sent a witty message that would make any woman’s heart melt. According to Nick, Cassie saw this warm, loving, heartfelt message and decided he was not the one for her, outright rejecting his profile (she was really just taking a break from dating apps and didn’t see his profile until weeks later). Figuring it was too late to match, she almost made the biggest mistake of her life, and swiped left. After this harsh rejection, Nick knew he really had to step up his game, so he diversified his approach by bringing his talents to Tinder. He eventually came across her profile again and sent yet another hopeful right swipe. When Nick’s handsome face popped up on Cassie’s screen for a second time, she had to appreciate his persistence, so she redeemed herself and swiped right. Cassie was very intrigued by a certain photo on his profile – so much so, she made the first move and said, “Are you still rockin the 70s stache?” …to which Nick replied, “Unfortunately not” (he still very much was). This relationship is built on a foundation of lies. Before their first date, Nick told his friends this would be his last ditch effort at dating for a very long time. Technically he was right, since he hasn’t dated anyone since! Love was in the air on this Wednesday evening, as Nick rolled up to the restaurant with his terrible mustache, and Cassie was sporting 12 layers of eyeliner. The pair talked the night away, effectively shutting down the restaurant at closing time. Nick, with all the confidence in his glorious mustache, asked Cassie if she would like to continue the night back at his place, to which Cassie replied, “Absolutely not.” When it was time to part ways, Nick took full advantage of Cassie having to wait to cross the street to get to her car, and they shared their first kiss. This led to several more dates, where they would share all their red flags and find out just how much they didn’t have in common. But what they did know, is they genuinely enjoyed being in the presence of one another. Eventually, on May 27th, Cassie asked Nick “Are we ever going to date or what?” Nick was enamored and officially asked Cassie to be his girlfriend. Things were going so great that Nick decided to sell his house and move in with Cassie less than three months later. They thought it might be temporary, but Nick still hasn’t left three years later. Exactly two years after they started dating, Nick got down on one knee and asked if Cassie would be his best friend forever. Despite getting gum surgery four days prior and barely being able to move her mouth, Cassie was ecstatic and said “What are you doing?!” several times before finally saying “Yes!” We are now here present day excited to be counting down the final months to our wedding, still finding time to take fun trips together, learn more about each other, and love each other more and more every day. We can’t wait to welcome you all to our wedding, where our love story will continue, and totally won’t end with a cruise ship hitting an ice berg or a never ending family rivalry driving us to our deaths.
