Olean, NY - December 31, 2014 We met at a local bar/restaurant Randy's Up the River on New Years Eve. Bre was meeting up with her friends, one of which was dating (and is now married to) Nick's best friend. Bre rang in the new year with the entire group; they ate dinner, went back to Nick's house and played a few drinking games, and all ended up at the local bars by midnight. Bre continued to hang around, forcing herself deeper into the friend group, until eventually, every single one of them became her best friends. Nick and Bre had seen each other nearly everyday for 5 months before they realized they had strong feelings for each other. Nick ended up asking Bre to dinner (with a little courage from Lindsey) and Bre accepted (also with a little courage from Lindsey) on May 8, 2015, and the rest is history.
New York City - July 4, 2019 - 10:40pm We had just gotten off the boat from watching the Macy's Fourth of July fireworks on the Hudson River in front of the Brooklyn Bridge and had decided to walk through the nearby park to look at the water/skyline. Once we were alone and for the first time in our entire NYC vacation, the world seemed quiet, Nick looked at me and said, "I know you don't like attention or surprises, but will you marry me?" And then pulled out the most beautiful ring I've ever seen. It happened so quickly and I'm nearly certain I blacked out for a second, so I can't even tell you if I cried or not, all I remember saying is, "are you sure?!" while he grabbed my shaking hand. It was the perfect night, on my favorite day of the year, and I'm pretty sure no other July 4th will be able to top this one. <3 -B
As you all know, due to the Worldwide pandemic, we decided to wed in a private ceremony with our parents, bridal party, and siblings that could attend, in the comfort of ours and Tom & Judy's homes. It was a perfect day and all that was missing were the rest of our family and friends. We woke up, ate breakfast together and read the notes that Nick's family wrote for us. Bre jumped in the shower as Nick went to start set up. The bridesmaids arrived and the rest of the day went as normal. Getting ready, first look, photos with the bridal party, and ceremony. We decided last minute to have a first dance, in our backyard, before going to the front yard for a drive by parade. This was one of the highlights of our day! We were able to see so many people that decided they wanted to still be a part of our day. For something that Bre was so on the fence about, we sure did love this addition. After the parade, we finished photos, cut the cake, ate an amazing dinner, and started the party. The night ended with most of the bridesmaids, Bre, and some of the guests jumping in the pool, while the others were by the bonfire. It truly was an amazing day. But we couldn't help but to look back and still feel a little bad that our friends/family couldn't all be there, so we decided that the best way around that was to celebrate again. We went back and forth about whether we should have a real reception, vow renewal, or just a party. We ultimately made the decision to just party our faces off with our favorite people. We figured you'd all approve. So next year, we will be having a one year anniversary, cocktail PARTY "reception." There will still be cake and we will still dress up, there just won't be all of the typical formalities. We're already ready to party and we are counting down the days until we can safely do so with all of you. We love you all and are so thankful that you understood that we were too impatient to wait to get married but still want to party with you!
