Answer

WOO HOO! Let the count down begin. If you haven't yet please download the Disney Cruise Line app, create an account, and link your reservation. This app is a necessity when on board for everyone in the family. It is where you can message others, see where you are dining for dinner, and see everything there is to do onboard!

Question

What isn't included in a Disney Cruise?

Answer

There are several things that you can add on to your cruise experience. Disney Cruise does not include an alcohol package but drinks are reasonably priced. Each guest 21+ is also allowed to bring on a maximum of 2 bottles of unopened wine of champagne (no larger than 750 mL) or 6 beers (no larger than 12 ounces) on board at the beginning of the voyage. These beverages must be packed in carry-on luggage. If you wish to enjoy these in one of the dining rooms there will be a corking fee of $29.00 per bottle. Other things not included: -Gratuities BUT you can add them on and its highly recommended! -Exclusive Adult Only Dining at Palo or Remy -Coffee Drinks at Cove Cafe or other Coffee Bars around ship. Basic coffee at drink stations ARE included. -Child Care for Children up to 3 years of age. There is group babysitting available through It's a Small World Nursery but additional fees apply and reservations are highly encouraged. -Spa treatments and Salon Services. -Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique -Gift Shops goodies and candy shop temptations -Wifi -Theater Snacks... but you can bring in your own! -Professional Cruise Photos

Question

Will I need to carry cash, credit cards, or foreign currency with me?

Answer

During the time you are on the ship and on Disney's Island Destinations (Lighthouse Point and Castaway Cay) you will not need to use cash or a credit card for your purchases- all incidentals, purchases, and services may be charged to your stateroom folio.

Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

Not all Disney Cruise itineraries require that you travel with a passport. However, for added security we recommend that you carry a valid passport with you. In addition to providing you and your family with approved identification for boarding the ship, having a passport prepares you to travel to any destination should the need arise. In the unlikely event that you experience an emergency during your cruise that requires you to fly home from a foreign port, your passport allows you to board the flight without delay.

Question

Are Gratuities Included?

Answer

Gratuities are not automatically included but you have the option to add them on ahead of time which is highly suggested. These include gratuities for your stateroom attendant and serving staff. The night before your last night on the cruise you will be given a handout and envelopes that will let you know how much each member will be tipped. if you chose to add on additional gratuities you can add it to the envelope at this time. You will distribute these envelopes to each person the last night of your cruise (e.g. stateroom attendant, head waiter, etc). We always suggest bringing smaller bills to tip any extra for great service! You will find the staff on Disney Cruise Line are AMAZING, its one of the things we love about cruising with Disney.

Question

When should I arrive at the cruise terminal?

Answer

We highly suggest arriving to the area the night before embarkation, we wouldn't want travel hiccups to keep you from making it on board! There are several hotels near the cruise terminal that are a short Uber/Lyft ride, some even offer transportation services. If you book through our travel agent she will be more than happy to help set up a hotel for the night before. Morning of the cruise you can arrive at the cruise terminal at the time you pick during online check-in, you will not be permitted to entere until your designated time so we highly suggest enjoying a laid back morning before the festivities begin!

Question

Where should I fly into?

Answer

The cruise will be departing from the Port Everglades cruise terminal in Fort Lauderdale Florida. You can fly directly into Fort Lauderdale which will be closest. We suggest flying in the night before to avoid any travel hiccups that may arise. If you chose to fly in the morning of or fly out the day we disembark you can set up transportation to and from the airport and cruise terminal through Disney Cruise Line. You can also fly into the Orlando area airports and enjoy Walt Disney World before or after the cruise. If you choose this option there are a couple of ways to get to Fort Lauderdale for the cruise. You can also rent a car or take the Brightline, which is a high speed train. It is about 3 hours from Walt Disney World to Fort Lauderdale by car. You can also chose to fly into Miami Airport. If you chose this you can either take a Lyft/Uber, rent a car, or take the Brightline into Fort Lauderdale. Driving to Fort Lauderdale from Miami will take about 30 minutes.

Question

Is there a Formal Night? What is dinner dress code?

Answer

There will not be a formal night on our Disney Cruise! You can choose to dress up for dinner any night that you would like to of course. In general, most onboard dining locations are "cruise casual,” so casual attire, such as shorts and T-shirts, is permitted, with the exception of swimwear and tank tops. Most cruises have special theme nights that provide opportunities to dress up for a one-of-a-kind family photo. Here's a breakdown of special dress events by cruise itinerary: 4-night cruises: First night is cruise casual—no swimwear or tank tops One pirate night themed deck party One optional dress-up night—jacket for men, dress or pantsuit for women Final night is cruise casual—no swimwear or tank tops

Question

Do I need to purchase a Magic Band+?

Answer

You do not need to purchase a Magic Band + to be able to enjoy everything Disney Cruise Line has to offer. If you do not purchase a Magic Band + please know you will have to carry your "Key to the World" card with you to access things like your stateroom and charging abilities. If you know you will be visiting Walt Disney World, Disneyland, or Disney Cruise Line again in the future we think the Magic Band + is a great investment. We find that Magic Bands are easier to carry around and are also water resistant.

Question

Will our entire time on the cruise be planned with Vow Renewal Festivities?

Answer

Absolutely Not! We do ask that if possible you partake in dinner with us each night. Our travel agent and Disney will work closely together to ensure we are dining at the same table or at least near by. The actual day of the vow renewal, which will be the last day of the cruise at port of call which is Castaway Cay, there will be times you have to be certain places to enjoy the vow renewal festivities. Other than that you are free to do all the things you enjoy but are also welcome to join us on anything we are doing as well. Closer to cruise time we will determine the best way to share where we will be and what we will be doing so if you want to join you can. We love the Disney Cruise Line app because it does have a great messaging system so you can always check in with your loved ones and see what they are doing.
