02.10.2018 You might wonder, how did a boy from Northern New York meet and fall in love with a Southern girl from Tallahassee, Florida? Well, thanks to the beauty of modern dating apps, it was much easier than it would seem. While stationed at Fort Rucker, AL, Nick made weekend trips to Tallahassee to visit his cousin. As luck would have it, Nick came to watch Syracuse's men's basketball team play (& lose) to Florida State in January of 2018. As a woman fiercely dedicated to her Seminoles, Amelia happened to be at the same basketball game. Just a few weeks later, Amelia went to visit Nick for the first time in Enterprise, AL, a place she surely never knew existed. On their very first date, Nick took Amelia to the Aviation Museum at Fort Rucker. It's safe to say she would soon learn more about flying and the history of aviation than most 21-year-old girls. Nick must have really fallen hard for Amelia that weekend in Alabama because he introduced her to 4 of his closest friends. Amelia even cried in front of Nick at the movies that very same 1st weekend together. From the start, Nick and Amelia have shared lots of laughs and love. Nick and Amelia are pros at distance - Every other weekend, Nick or Amelia would drive to spend time together, simply falling in love and becoming the very best of friends. As time has gone on, Nick and Amelia have learned to embrace the distance and let it bond them together. As a military couple, their strength is found in knowing they have found their life partner and forever best friend, no matter the distance or time apart.
