We are staying in Waikiki and while there are a lot of hotel options there, I would also look into airbnbs! A few recommendations: The Polynesian Residences, Waikiki Beach The Modern Hotel - on the outskirts of Waikiki The Surfjack Hotel, Waikiki Beach

I would rent a car for at least a couple of days to adventure. North Shore is a great spot to check out and the beaches on the East side of the island are our favorite!
