We started dating during the middle of the second semester of my freshman year, and from the very beginning, we just clicked. What started as casually hanging out quickly turned into spending all of our time together. By April of 2023, we officially started dating — and we’ve been inseparable ever since. Over the last three years, we’ve grown so much — individually and as a couple. Through every season, our love has only deepened. The most important part of our relationship has been keeping Jesus at the center. He has guided us, strengthened us, and surrounded us with incredible community both at Pitt and in Kansas City. We are so grateful for the friends and family who have supported and encouraged us along the way. Our engagement is one of the sweetest chapters of our story. That Christmas Eve was the first one we celebrated together with both of our families. It was also my second Christmas without my grandpa, who was so incredibly special to me. Every year, he created an elaborate scavenger hunt for one of the grandkids — a tradition full of creativity, laughter, and love. To honor him and continue that tradition, my mom and my fiancé planned a scavenger hunt proposal. That night, I was sent all over my grandparents’ house following clues, just like we had done so many times before. Each one brought back memories of my grandpa and the joy he created for our family. The final clue led me into the living room, where he was waiting on one knee. It was thoughtful, intentional, and more meaningful than I could have ever imagined — a moment that honored the past while stepping into our future. We truly believe God has written our story so beautifully, and we cannot wait to begin this next chapter as husband and wife.
