Cville is wine country! here are some of our favorites:
My personal pick for something to do in the area if you're making a trip of wedding weekend would be to take a drive down the Blue Ridge Parkway. (My parents did this for their honeymoon, ps :) The Blue Ridge Pkway starts in Afton, VA which is about 30 min from the farm. It extends to Cherokee, North Carolina. Especially as the leaves begin to fall--this is one of the most stunning views in the US.
Michie Tavern, located near Charlottesville, Virginia, is a historic 18th-century inn established in 1784 by Scotsman William Michie. It now serves as a museum and restaurant, offering visitors a glimpse into colonial-era life with traditional Southern fare and period-style furnishings. Right off the grounds of Monticello.
perfect for a quick bite around the farm!
another great place for lunch but they have all kinds of food!
As a Buffalonian, I will deem this pizza acceptable
This is a bit further from the farm, in Gordonsvile, but wow, some of the best BBQ we have ever hard!
This is a beautiful five star restaurant in the area.
Italian!
In the Charlottesville Downtown Mall, they have great specialty burgers, elevated sports bar vibe
Upscale southern menu, I have heard a lot of great things
This place is really cozy, in an old house, great thai food
We have gone here for brunch, its by the University, its really good!
